Good Morning Lodge. Cold again today.

The battery in the car Jr drives gave up the ghost yesterday. Had to go get a new one put in last night. Battery makers have this down to an absolute science. About 6 months past the 4 year warranty the battery is dead, dead, dead.

The OEM battery in my 2000 Altima lasted seven years. The replacement batteries after that each made it about two months past their warranty dates and they were both from different manufacturers.

Looking at a map, I just saw that in Mendota Heights there's a placed called Resurrection Cemetary. Do people really want that to happen? Isn't that how bad zombie movies start?

hey, just because you're resurrected doesn't mean you can stop eating right and exercising.

Good Morning, Lodge! My check engine light is on in my car. The last diagnostic ran on it didn't show anything. I don't want anything to happen on my way to Prescott.

Is it blinking? If not, you should be okay to drive (just keep an eye on the gauges). If it's a 2000 to 2006 GM product, this is just standard operating procedure. :D

With the talk of dead batteries, I've been half expecting my company work truck to give up with the cold weather in Chicago. But it hasn't yet. Surprises me. For a beat up 2006 GMC Canyon, that thing just won't say quit.

I just learned that about four hours ago a family friend just died, my brother's father-in-law. With the difference in age between me and my brother, I've actually known and liked the man pretty much my entire life.

* cancer.

I've determined, on the Ancestry.com front, that there is no use trying to trace any family that goes back to Norway. The place is a friggen black hole. This gives me plenty of reason to continue to identify myself as a Swede, and keep ignoring the fact that I actually have more Norwegian blood than Swedish. :D (I have always identified myself as being Swedish because of my last name being Swedish, and the parts of the family that I was most familiar with, and interacted with the most are the Swedes.)

But seriously, is there not any good information from Norway?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

bb, I'll let you know if I find any.

So Jr wrecked a car this morning on the way to school. Sounds like his fault too. :rolleyes:

I assume that he's okay since you're already onto :rolleyes:.

We had been saving a nice 2002 Alero for our boy that we had owned from the start. Was gonna be his when he gets his license and then we were gonna buy the wife a new car. She wrecked it a couple of days before X-mas, but thankfully neither of them were hurt - just shaken.

I just bought a replacement today as I was looking for an equivalent that she can drive for a couple of months and then we let him use.
