While going to the car I realized I really didn't need the jacket. I listened to the talking heads. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

It's cold out. Blech. What happened to summer?

Probably going to hit OT hours today. Also blech.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I was upset at how the days are already getting shorter and that Summer seemed to fly by. Then I took a nice deep breath of crisp 50 something degree air and remembered how much I love Fall weather.

The weather should be perfect for tailgating and football Saturday...high of ~62 predicted. I couldn't ask for anything better. (well, maybe a better football team and a return to the college football atmosphere I love)

The biggest tailgate of the year in Iowa City for Iowa State this week, basically the entire state comes together to watch one 2nd tier program play an abysmal one, and for some reason most people love it. Anywho, we'll be tailgating Saturday and the weather is the same as yours; 63 and sunny. Doesn't get much better than that!

Well, except for being anywhere but Iowa.

One of Jr's buddies is now planning to play for Waterloo instead of his senior year of high school hockey at Edina. This kid struggles in school now, won't get easier with a USHL travel schedule. Then there's the whole living in Iowa thing. I'm gonna have to talk to this kid.

The Blackhawks have a great program and a pretty solid fanbase! I always worry about how kids will fare in junior hockey mixing it with a class schedule. We have a kid this year who is in a similar situation, but left for KC.

Hee! I was going to post something similar.

I am the only person on my team here today. My boss, my boss' boss, and two team members are all at a meeting in San Diego. The other two members of my team are in Florida on a site visit. Thought it was just going to me and our admin but she's "out sick" today. Which I put in quotes because she's out starting tomorrow on vacation. It's nice and quiet here. Trying to get a bunch of work done I normally wouldn't get the chance to. And, my travel picks up again next week. Heading to NY fun spots of Albany and Syracuse. W00t! I bet you're all jealous.

How come they didn't take you to San Diego?

They only had x-amount of spots. Trust me. I should've gone and I asked about it back in May. My teammate went to the last one and I thought I would get to go to this one instead of her and I was pretty annoyed that I didn't.

They were probably trying to give you a break from your trying travel schedule. They know how you hate flying with screaming babies.

True. Which is why it's a good thing I'm driving to the next set of events!

The weather is beautiful out. Finally weather I can agree with! No jacket needed here. Light jacket comes out at around 35 degrees.

I will second that.

Taking the little g's camping this weekend. Fall camping is the best. No bugs. No crowds. Camp fire feels good.

We have camping trips planned for the weekend of 9/26, 10/6 and MEA weekend of 10/16. Tentative trips scheduled for November and December.

Gorgeous out today.

See now the problem with my wearing a jacket today is that I forgot it at the office. Went out at lunch and certainly didn't need it, never thought about it till I was at my car after work and didn't want to go back for it.

Won't be long until your office is a mini closet! Definitely cooling down much more this evening, perfect night to be playing football.. Reminds me of the glory days.;)

Good morning Lodge.

Mrs and I went and got my new car last night. Jr drove my old car he'll kinda inherit to his hockey game. Check engine light came on and cruise light blinks and traction control light is on. He drove it to school today that way.
Lemme guess, early 2000 GM product? :D

Pretty sure for a while GM wired the check engine light to come on, and stay on, at 80k miles just because. Especially when the code thrown didn't pinpoint the issue: "P0442 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected"

Or in layman's terms: "Error: either the gas cap isn't tight or your engine is going to explode, I can't confirm what it is."

My Volkswagen has the same code. It was the purge valve. :)
