Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Just in time for the truly bitter cold, I get an email about an engine I may need to work on....in the Bakken. **** me. If I have to be working outside in Western NoDak on Monday, I will actually have a reason to dislike cold weather.

For starters and to keep you warmer.........take off the skirt. :p;):D

You don't know where to put it, and I don't know what any of that means. So this is the perfect place for it.

I speak Jive

The Fifth third ballpark (home of the single A affiliate of the tigers) located in Grand Rapids Michigan is currently engulfed with flames

Morning Lodge.

No, don't listen to them. You'll be fine getting off the plane in t-shirt and shorts.

Mavsy - is it the high school team or the squirts who practice early mornings there? Around here it's always been right after school for the high school teams (at least since they moved it inside).

Unfortunately it's the high school. We primarily practice after school, and we plan it out that we take our morning practices for varsity early in be season or when we know we can give days off. However, to give the Varsity more full ice, the JV takes additional morning times; like today.

We're in dire need of another sheet of ice here. Each you team lost on average 37 hours of ice this season; that's a remarkable number.

With four high school teams, 2 Div I programs, a figure skating club, and the youth hockey association growing, we don't have a ton of ice.

School is already cancelled on Monday for Jr. First day back from the 2 week Christmas break.

I wish I had an ATV with a plow - just for the rink on the pond. The people on the next pond over used to maintain a really big rink (close to NHL size) and they used an ATV for it. They also mounted a tank and sprayer on the back for flooding - way easier then dragging the hoses in and out like I do.

The entire state is closed thanks to Mark Dayton.

FWIW, my grandpa has had two Polaris ATVs in my lifetime, both of which have been awesome; used around the farm and whatnot.

Awwww hell. Rumblings at work that I will have to travel to South Africa soon. Not exactly a place I want to go. Also, some talk about wanting me to go on a trip to Peru. At least it will be warmer than Williston.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I just learned that my employer has inked a deal with Ryan Construction to occupy the office buildings that will go into the area being rebuilt along the west side of the Metrodome II complex (Target Stadium?). This is going to suck. I like the skyway, the variety and ease of access. All of that will be lost. Sure, we'll have skyway connection to the main downtown area, but it'll be a hike to get anywhere, so we won't have time during our breaks. Like I said, this will suck.

I would have expected that there would be requisite restaurants, shops and retail that will go in that area too, to make up for it. I am not too up-to-date on what is going on with it, so maybe that is not the case.

I was told that the first level would have some shops and restaurants, but I don't know what or how many; those will likely come towards mid-2015 as we're to start moving there Q4 2015. They'll probably the Target Cafe and Target Burrito Stand.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Company just sent out pay raises for this year. Drinks at the HHT are on me for the next weekend of everybody's games!

Honestly, I doubt any of us who drive the boats (Capts/Relief Capts/Pilots) were expecting this. Past 2 years have been very nice raises, we expected a fair raise, but this year is bigger than each of the past 2 years.

Congrats! I'll take whiskey, no ice.
