Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Finally home! After over an hour on hold with our travel desk, mo co-worker and I decided to just book one-way tickets on Jet Blue. There was a 7am and an 11am flight and both were planning to take off. We did pros and cons of either and the 7am won out. They were predicting crappy roadways again but I think that would have been liked that all day.

We got in the car at 4am and headed out slowly. The main free wasn't too bad till we started hitting overpasses, and wow. Plows Dallas. Look into them. Hard ridges of thick ice - just awful. It was a hairy commute but it was really good that we were on the road so early there was no traffic. Got to the car rental center and there was no one at Enterprise. Left the keys in the car, got on a shuttle bus. Got to JetBlue and there was no line. At all. Checked in, got boarding passes, went to security. Again - no line. At all. I was worried that there would be a million people in line. Got to the gate, went to get coffee and breakfast and water. At the gate they announced they had some empty rows so I changed my seats so I could get a row to myself to sleep. Flight pulled away right on time. The tarmac was all icy as well. Seriously, they do not know how to clear out this crap.

Anyway, made it home safe and sound. I am seriously thinking about not flying American again. When we got to DFW, I noticed that 80% of the flights cancelled were American. Anyway, I'm not flying anywhere for a while.

No screaming babies?

Apparently it's Trash the Kitchen night at the Hammer Palatial Estates. Chicken breasts in the oven, chili on the stove, and beef stew in the crock pot. My kitchen looks like the Swedish Chef started a food fight.

At least today was productive. Figures that I go back to work tomorrow .

Don't you work pretty much from now till May with no days off?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I get a couple weeks before the monkey rodeo starts in earnest.

Please don't remind me.

Trying to teach the puppy how to open the fridge, get a beer and bring it to me on the couch. He's figured out the open the fridge part, that he has to pull the rope, but doesn't pull hard enough on the rope, to get it open. He'll figure it out.

This would be a fantastic sight.

I really don't want to go back to work in 3 days. Last Sunday's at home are always quite depressing.

If this is for real....don't give up on it. :D

Good Morning, Lodge!

This cough will not go away. On the plus side, the fatigue has slowly been going away.
When I had pneumonia it took all the way til the end of the Spring semester to be OK> I was sick before Fall Finals.

Bork Bork Bork!!!

*HT. Too many penalties. No goals for the bad guys were scored even strength.

My kitchen is a disaster area that will probably take me a month to clean top to bottom... so don't feel bad.

My whole house looks like a bomb hit. Christmas stuff half out and the other stuff half put...somewhere/ everywhere.

So does my house. The basement is pretty clean. The rest of the house... not so much.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

This is going to be tougher than I thought. The dog would rather chew on, and try to open his training beers, than bring them too me...hmmm.

If you were given a training beer, wouldn't you try and open it :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

All three trees up, lit and ornamented. Outside lights were up last weekend. Other Christmas knickknacks are mostly out and the empty bins are returned to the basement.

All that's left are the 8 shelves of the Christmas village. :p

What's that you say? 3 trees?

Yes, I saw these sweet red & white leds that I just had to have, so we got a little tree for the man cave/basement and put up... a Badger tree!

All of our Badger ornaments and all of our red, white and red & white ornaments. It's as cool as you're picturing it. ;) :p

:D

Oh yeah and both Blackhawks ornaments, not because they really go, but because the wife doesn't want them on the main tree.

Blech. I have my little 3' Charlie Brown tree, with standard red/green lights. Good enough for me. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I never took my decorations down from last year, so all I really have to do is re-light the tree and put some more decorations up.
