Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Good Morning Lodge.

So these single guys are whining because they have to show up at other peoples' houses about on time and eat the food that the other people prepared in the houses the other people decorated and then leave so the other people can clean up?

:p
CHuckling. They are not stupid...

Baking bread and cookies while the bread is rising.

Other people clean up? You haven't met my family, have you? The women cook, the men clean up. ;) :p

Typically, the issue is the other people. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

So I wake up this morning, check my cell phone for any missed calls, a habit that I picked up during the last year that I could probably stop doing now. At any rate, I check the phone, all's well. I set it down on the table, go to take care of my morning ablutions, then go to check my phone for the time. Nothing. The screen won't respond. I try the reset phone process and it won't respond. My phone turned into a brick at around 6:15 this morning. I am so glad I actually paid for the insurance coverage on that thing. It's the first time I've ever done that, and it's actually going to pay off.

Am I the only one that finds it very difficult to be motivated to work this week, knowing that 12 days of vacation are right around the corner?

This afternoon I'll have to work. We're driving to Le Sueur to help out on a project that is having some issues. We're the guys that get called when the normal people can't figure it out. We're like Batman, to the distributors' Commissioner Gordon.

This is my last day in the office until January 2nd, and almost everyone else is either already on vacation or mentally checked out. Pretty sure I'm doing next to nothing today. ;)

I have next Wednesday off, and 3 hours off next Tuesday. Full day of meetings tomorrow and a critical meeting Friday morning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

3 Christmas Eve places, 2 Christmas celebrations, 1 Epiphany, and our own. Hanukkah must count for more because that is 7 days worth...

No gatherings and I really don't want to go anywhere. I'm content to cook for my dad and I on Christmas.

And on New Year's Eve, I'm happy with staying in, watching movies, and getting drunk.

I never go out on NYE. I think the last time we went out was before we were married. Stay at home, sometimes have friends over, make gourmet meal and watch movies

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I don't normally go out for New Years but I'm going to this year. Ann Arbor is having a block party with one of my acquaintances as one of the DJs and also Michell Chamuel performing (she was on the voice, and I loved her old band Ella Riot). Then at midnight instead of a ball drop, they'll have a puck to drop (since the Winter Classic is being played at Michigan Stadium on New Years Day). I think it will be fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

We generally try to have a pick-up game on the pond on NYE. I like skating at midnight, especially if there is a decent moon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Why can't I get this vision of you skating around with your drawers around your ankles out of my head!

It's because you're a bad man.

Such a thing never occurred to me before now. Thanks for that image, Mark.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I concur with the Clown. The visual of his 'cheeks never crossed my mind.

I blame gmann and his s&ss!

C'mon... this is tLodge, is it not? Are you fellas getting soft in your old age? :p

Hey now..........the s&ss are always worn nice and snug where they should be.........never around the ankles. Except for that one time.

No big Xmas plans for the g family. This weekend we celebrate at the inlaws..........(fingers crossed that the flu bug hits hard). Xmas eve it's just the g family and we have invited friends and family that don't have specific plans to stop by on Xmas day to hang out. We have never done this before so it will be interesting to see what happens. On Xmas day we will just have snacky foods sitting around plus I have purchased a smoked turkey and a spiral ham that will be set up to dig into ant any time.
