Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Heads have rolled the past two days at work. Fortunately, from my department, they only axed the corporate trainer. Company meeting at 1 today confirmed they were too ambitious with revenue projections, didn't anticipate losing a major customer who decided to move their IT to India, and spent too much this fiscal year. Remains to be seen how much they learn from these errors.

Thankfully, the drama is over.

But that would mean going to Brooklyn Dark for more than just driving through.....

I like Cub. They have everything I need, and the prices are better than some of the other places around. Never go to Rainbow, don't even know where there is one close to me.

edit: also, Byerlys's and Lunds? Please, I live in Anoka County, don't give me that crap. Same goes for this Joe's and Paycheck place, we don't have that crap in God's Country.
God's country? When did you move to Iowa?

Iowa is Hell. Wisconsin is worse than Hell. So it is written, so it shall be.

ETA:

Bethany: Were they sent to Hell?
Metronone: Worse, Wisconsin. For all eternity.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I may not always like Wisconsin, but when they are reporting a possible bid for another Tampa frozen four, I do. Milwaukee also a Wisconsin bid for 2015-2018 frozen fours.

I'm still pizzed that they broke up the healthy foods section and scattered it all over the store so we have to hunt for the gluten free products. Never cared for Rainbow and none close to us. Byerely's/Lunds is too expen$ive for most things. Although I refuse to buy seafood at Cub, mostly get that at Jerry's.

Only certain stores are doing that, to increase their holding power for produce or meat. You are talking about the Southdale one, right?

Also, Brooklyn Park North is on the good side of the tracks. Which means north of 610.

Good evening Lodge.

Currently tenting it in the back yard with the boys. They were really excited to sleep in the tent tonight. The only issue I have so far is that they are both out cold and I am not tired and it's not even 8:30. One bonus is that I can get the wireless signal from the house and another bonus is that I brought a couple beverages to keep me company.........

Edit. iOS7. Just downloaded it this evening. Not sure I like it.

I'm undecided on the iOS7 as well. I'm not big on change, so we'll see. Some of the features are nice, though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I would never be allowed on PYL; I'd pull a Larson. :D

Kidnap Pat Sajak's family and hold them for ransom.

2-12-1-9-4-stop.

It's a bucket list item for me as well. Jeopardy would be hit or miss. I'd dominate on Wheel. Price is Right they'd never pick me, I'm too much of an LFaT and they've gone to wanting people who are dumb because the prize budget has taken a hit and they're trying to avoid too many winners.

For those of us not up on our gameshow knowledge, what's the Larson reference an the LFaT thing?

2-12-1-9-4 is one of the patterns he used to run up his big win (basically, the moving light on the board only had about 5 set patterns it cycled between, and he figured this out, memorized them all, and figured out when to stop the board.)

LFaT is Loyal Friend and True, what Bob used to call people who watched the show all the time and memorized all the little tricks in the games.

...and walked away with over $100k in the 80's, when it was almost unheard of to win more than $10,000 on a game show. If you won $10k on a game show then, you might as well have hit the lottery.
I watch Game Show Network in the morning. I watch the reruns of Match Game, Super Password, Press Your Luck, and Sale of the Century, and they've never aired Larson's episode of Press Your Luck. Though I've heard it's on YouTube.

Also, Match Game would be easy. Just think of the raunchiest answer and you've got a match. Sale of the Century was easy too... all you had to do was not buy any of the instant bargains.

I had a good birthday. The cake turned out great, the beer was good... I feel like I could fight the Kraken right now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I remember back when I was first hosting other USCHOers (and Commie was, too), and we'd watch the Gameshow Network, or that Nickelodeon Games channel, and dollar bet on the contestants in the shows, since none of us would remember any of the shows from when they first aired. Plus, of course, we'd all add running commentary on the show. :D

One of the best answers I saw on some 70s show, where a contestant had to match a kid's answer to a question....
Question: What are hot pants?
Kid's answer (and the kid happened to be black): Pants that are stolen.

You CAN'T make that up!

Gotta love surviving a little housecleaning! I've lived through two of those myself. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Greetings Lodge. Spent the afternoon and evening at Paramount Studiis where the show my brother is working on is taped. They got a back seven pick up so the season is 20 episodes, not 13 and he'll be working thru the end of the year. Got to meet the executive producers and show runners and writers. And then I walked all around. Saw Lea Michele from Glee being driven by me on a golf cart. And Dr. Phil almost hit me with his car. A good day!
