Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

So sorry to read that Brent, hope your nieces are OK. :(

Morning all. Memorial service for my boss today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Good Morning, Lodge!

With everything going on, the silver lining should appear soon. That is what I keep telling myself.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Sorry to bring more sad news, but I would love my fellow board members to throw any spare prayers towards my brother/nieces. When he got up for work today, he found his wife had passed away sometime during the night. She was 36. We have no info on cause right now. To make things worse, his birthday is this Friday. I'm obviously a wreck, and I can't even imagine what he's going through. The nieces are old enough to almost understand, but not quite. Honestly, that's the toughest part for me, is thinking about those girls without a mother. :(

I've known my SIL for 23 years, as my bro/me/her used to work together in HS (and how they met, although they didn't start dating until years later). Would have been married for 12 years come this fall.

Normally God and I have a good deal going, but today, I hate Him. And I think he understands. :(
Sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers with you and your family, especially your brother and nieces. :(

For those interested, gf and I are planning on going to the State Fair on the second Sunday, the day before Labor Day. Those in the Twin Cities are welcome to come along! We also will most likely be going on the second Saturday, but we'd be taking gf's parents to the fair that day. We may also go the first Friday, if we don't have anything else to do that day.

I'm in. Always love the Meat Sweats and Food Comas.

I love drinking a bunch of beer in 90° heat and wondering "Why the hell am I so effing tired?" a few hours later.

Looks like we're going the second Friday. Usually go the first Friday but we'll just be back from our trip East and Mrs and I will have to work.

Had an interesting day at work today. had a 1:45 that scheduled today to be in with her mother at the same time. Easy enough. Anyways, right at 1:45, she calls to tell us that she's lost her keys and can't make it right now to her session, and since we wouldn't be able to get them their full hour in, that they're going to cancel the appointments. Our receptionist there reminded her of our late cancellation fee, which is only 30 dollars for her session. Being that her Mom was suppose to be a new client, we would have let her slide, that would have been my thought about it because she hasn't signed on the form that she agrees to pay the late cancel fee like her daughter had already had. The lady gets all huffy about it, says she's not paying the fee, and that she would be contacting her lawyer about it. Then she hangs up the phone on our poor receptionist there. Monica comes back to the break room to let Jerry, the therapist who was going to work on her mother, and me know that we've got no shows, and just what all the lady said. Me and Jerry just look at each other and say, "Are you kidding me lady? Its a 30 dollar fee. you talk to a lawyer about that and the bill you're going to get from that is going to be more than that."

Anyways, Monica talks to our owner there about it, and she calls her back to smooth things over with her. And let her know that we wouldn't be charging her because an emergency did kind of come up there for her. Still, I think it was pretty **** rude of her to just slam the phone down on Monica like that, not to mention the fact that the Late Fee there is to help pay Jerry and me there because we can't fill that time slot, and empty time slots don't make us money.

Rental car adventures are... not fun. Picked up a Chevy Cruze from Hobby around 6pm last night. Went out to dinner with my cousin, no issues. Get in the car, and I have a low right rear tire pressure warning. Ok, whatever, I'll stop and refill it and monitor. Fill 'er back up with air, and go to Walmart to get some things to go back to work in the morning. Get back in, **** warning is back on. Get to my hotel, call the rental company roadside assistance, they get a guy to come change the tire out to a spare (I could have done it, but he had the pneumatic impact gun, so it took him about 5 minutes). Call up Hobby's rental company, they have no more cars available. Call Bush intercontinental's company, they do. So I drive there, on a donut, doing ~40 on the interstates, and exchange it for a Chevy Cantina.

Sigh. Now to nap and wake up early to go back to work. FML.

Good Morning Lodge.

Which one of you Minnysoda hooligans is giving me a cut of the Powerball jackpot?

Haven't checked the numbers yet, but odds are very good it wasn't me that won. Odds are even better that if it was me, you're not getting a taste. :p Well, I guess I'd buy the drinks if I ever ran into you in Tampa or at a Frozen Four or something, but otherwise keep your boat job.

we will be at the fair either the 31st or the 1st, or both. Got a hotel downtown for cheap.
