Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Good morning Lodge. On board my flight to Atlanta. Traveling with one of our video producers. I told him "Two things to know about flying with me - 1) every flight I take is always at the furthest gate and 2) there will be a screaming baby on board." Chech and check. See you in Atlanta!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

New posts at the bottom was the only option available on this site for a few years. As a result, I keep it that way because I was conditioned to it.

Are you sure? My recollection is that it was just the opposite.
While I was trying to get to sleep last night I was, naturally, trying to think of nothing at all. So I of course drifted onto this during that time. You're right, Ralph, new posts were always on top when the board first started, there were no choices. They didn't change it until some major vBulletin release allowed the option. When the change happened, everyone got defaulted to the new posts on the bottom, and then you had make the selection so they were back to the top. I kept it so that new posts stayed to the bottom because it used to be that conversations would move so fast that if you were reading back a couple pages you'd miss a few posts while switching to the next page when new posts were on top. I don't think that would be so much a concern anymore as this was back in the days of Chuck Murray, ScottM, HankWP, JimRitt, and such.

Clown... I've realized the crazier my thoughts get as I'm trying to sleep the better chance I have of falling asleep.

Sometimes you gotta let them flow

I'm one of the types who will realize "Oh crap, I better get to sleep NOW" and then I start getting desperate focusing on getting to sleep and that keeps me awake even longer.

One thought you can tell yourself is "Well, I'm awake and alert, I obviously don't really need sleep, I'll make it." Distract yourself with a book or something and out you go.

As if having a cold wasn't bad enough, now I have pink eye. FML.

Also, my stalking capabilities are not as good as I thought they were. I have a first name, an occupation, employer and hometown and thought that would be enough for me to track someone down.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Just found out I have an extra 6 days of vacation to use between now and the end of next year. Wow

That happened to me last year. Thought I had 12 days, but they counted my internship and coop time as service time, which kicked me up and over the 5 year hurdle, so I actually had 17 days. Not a bad problem to have.

In January I get bumped up a seniority level and will get 28 days of PTO per year.
