Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Wish I could take a couple days here. Plenty of PTO but too dam busy with three jobs going out soon
I didn't really have a choice. Going out of town for a wedding, so work will have to wait. Luckily I don't have anything too pressing the next few days.

I'm thinking about taking some extra time but think the weather will be bad so not sure I want to use my time up now. Hmmm... but a break from work sure would be nice.

Wait for the Fall. Now you have become the unobtainable you are the chase/challenge she was missing. Better to cut everything for awhile and then meet like old friends if you see each other in a month or 2.

Exactly. I finally have some.. Leverage? Not sure if this the right word. When I went there I notice she still had my pictures by her bed, a rose that she's kept since last June still by a pic of me, etc. She told me again she loves me and sees herself with me someday. I told her I believe her, but she doesn't show me that love, and it's clear she doesn't need me in her life right now, and I'm not waiting around.

She once again told me how legitimately scared she is of settling down. She said its impossible for her to describe the feeling. I understand it to an extent, but I'm not asking her to marry me right now? Or in the near future even? Neither of us is ready for that.

After last night I know she still loves me. Basically, it depends on if she's going to stop running from reality and embrace it, or if she takes too long and I've successfully moved on.

Don't read too much into the picture and the rose. I still have pictures of my high school sweetheart and the candle and the first roses he gave me. They were still displayed in my room at my parents old house. I will always love him, and like having those momentos of a great time in my life. But that doesn't mean I want to be with him.

Spending most of your time with someone, being told they want to be with you forever, while maybe not being proposed marriage....it can feel constricting, trapping, and terrifying. If you know neither of you is ready for marriage, than maybe finding out what relationships with other people are like is what you are ready for.

All I can do is wish you luck, and strongly advise that you not allow yourself to be used as a safety net, as much as you will want to be there for her.

Have fun in redneckville this weekend.

Agree with goldy, what a crappy day for weather.

The temp is on the way to the high 70s here in Denver. After that, we have a five day stretch of low to mid 80s on the way with plenty of sun and little chance of rain. And hey, enjoy that crappy upper midwest weather and some jury duty. :p

Hey Shot - just booked a flight to Colorado Springs for mid June. What can I expect weather-wise?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Morning Lodge.

Day started out super fun *dripping sarcasm* Windshield wiper came apart on drive to work. It is fixed now, but not sure if it will hold. Then when I grabbed my lunch bag off the passenger seat the bottom was soaked. Next to it was my nearly empty Nalgene bottle. Guess it wasn't closed very well. I told this story to a coworker and now he is spreading rumors that my "water broke". *sigh*

But on a happier note, saw Michigan's hockey schedule has been released. Planning a trip to UNH. Considering making a sign that reads "go Mr. Les" for when Lowell plays here. Any of our Lodge fans from BU, Lowell or Tech planning on a visit to Ann Arbor for hockey next fall?
:D Looks like an awful lot of traveling will be going on.

Apart from the possibility of a brief shower in mid-to-late afternoon hours, you should have lots of sun and temps anywhere from low 70s to high 80s. In short, gorgeous weather.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

I told her I wasn't going to wait forever, and I'm done waiting now. She needs to figure her life out.

I'm very good about not texting her first. I won't do it. If she wants my time, she can make an effort for it.
Good. Now go find some strange. It'll help.

90 degrees, sunny and a 100% chance of running into some d-bags.
...who will be stoned out of their minds.

Joke's on you: I have today completely off, and for the next week and a half, I'm on call (meaning I just have to call them twice a day to see if I'm needed for the next session). Work, you say? I had already scheduled vacation through next Tuesday. Yep, I planned this out way ahead of time. :p

You planned it this way? Why use vacation time to sit around on-call for jury duty? Are you nuts?

No need to answer that last question... :p ;)

I don't think his work pays for jury duty. If he burns vacation time, he can at least keep a paycheck coming in for a little while if he gets seated.

Maybe not the most elegant move, but I can't fault him for his foresight.

She told me she wanted to be with me, though.:p (which I understand isn't entirely true, or I wouldn't have bad the month I've had.)

That's the craziest part of this whole thing. She was the one who told me she thought I was the one, the one that always wanted to be together, etc. to the point where I even told her, I love you, but there's times where I need a little space and a little "Me" time. We don't have to spend every single night together, for example.

I'm confident she'll figure out if she truly believes what she says and how she feels about me. One way our the other, she'll grow from this and ultimately be happy. So will I. As I have time to be truly independent, I'll learn if her love and support is something I truly want for the rest of my life.

Not sure i'm ready for some strange. My strange this weekend will be the lake. Fishing, fires, golf, good people, and beer.

My work pays me for jury duty, but only if I'm actually at the courthouse. If I don't go in, I don't get paid. Plus, I just wanted a long weekend, in case I wasn't actually on jury duty. Good thing, too. Talking with my boss, work is getting SLAMMED this week. I think they got out around 8pm last night.
