Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

Good weekend for me. Coached hockey all weekend and enjoyed in the festivities with the parents. Had a blast.

Struggling here today, just need to fun the motivation and be more productive.

Goldy, I helped coach the squirt A team on Saturday as well. Scrimmaged Edina White. Played to a 4-2 loss. That was some high quality hockey from both teams, very fun to watch and be a part of.

I know one of the families on that team as my son played with the older brother a couple years ago. Scott Bell (former Gopher captain and D3 coach) is an assistant coach and his kid is on that team. I would expect some high quality play from that group, good for your guys to stay with them.

My dad offered me $28,000 for my truck this weekend.....seriously considering taking it. I could sell mine, pay off remaining loan, take the leftover and put towards a downpayment, and lower my monthly payment by about $250, extending my payments out 3 more years. I don't like the idea of extending out the payments, but it would be really nice to knock at least $250 off of my monthly payment.

Consider buying a year or two older model and maybe saving the payments that way? Or do you want a shiny new truck :D

I get a factory discount on brand new vehicles through work, because we're a major supplier to Chrysler, so I can get a brand new one for the same price as one that is a year or 2 old. Plus, the new 2013 Rams have an air suspension system that allows you to raise or lower the truck, so I'd be able to lower it and actually get it into my garage without problems. I'd be downgrading from a diesel 2500, to a gas 1500, but I'd be upgrading to a premium interior (heated leather, woodgrain, satnav, etc)

Maybe I'll have to hang a sign on the back wall of my garage to remind me. ;)

The guy who doesn't drive giving truck advice to the gearhead?
I am actually considering something like he suggested as well, except it wouldn't be for a year or 2 old one, if I wanted that, I'd keep my current truck. I'm considering getting one that is 10 years old for about 8000-10000, and have no payments for the foreseeable future, and have some extra cash to pay down some other debts.

That might be funny if it meant something to anyone who's not Twitch or Brent. And since you've linked to some of their stuff in the past, I'm not dumb enough to click the link.

Do like we do for parking garages - hang a length of pvc pipe at the same height as the garage door head a couple feet out from the entrance. You hear it bump the roof of your truck first. And hang it loose so it can be pushed out of the way and not damage the truck.

ETA, if one of my friends had done that he might not have tried to drive into his garage with his expensive road bike still on the roof....
