Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #159: Lodge's Attitude Toward Christmas/Holidays

Sister is in the hospital. I think she's about to form babby.

My goal in life is to be the "cool uncle." I wanted to buy the kid an iPhone for her first Christmas just for the lulz.
Yeah, but its going to be outdated tech by the time she's even old enough to use it. Hell, I'm still mad that Apple isn't doing anything for Third generation iPod Touches on the Apple store. It still works just fine, just don't get any new updates for it. And hell, the only real difference in between the 3 and the fourth generation ones is that they slapped a camera on the 4's. Not that they really needed to.

Hook the kid up with some savings bonds for the first birthday, and then put a pretty bow on the card for it. Kid will play with the bow for a while, and she has something that would be a good return on investment later on when she's older. wait until its old enough to start carrying on a conversation with you before you go all out and get her the cool shibby for her.

Was in urgent care from 1:45-5:45. So frustrating. Came home, made chicken noodle soup, been sleeping since. Now I can't fall back asleep.

A savings bond doesn't have the lulz that an iPhone would though...

Morning, the river I'm on has risen 11 feet in the past 12 hours or so. If you think that sounds fun, believe me. It is.

We put $ in a savings acct that we hold for each of the nieces/nephews. WHen they graduate we give it to them. They have a blast thinking of what they will spend it all on as they are growing and then most of them have used it to afford college expenses. The dreams they have with that money are way more than they would ever have gotten when we buy a thing. (we do give a little something to open)

Good Morning Lodge.

All dressed up for a big interview today. We are trying to get the job for the next building on a campus (Mpls. Veterans' Home) where we are working on one building and I did the previous one while with a different firm. This next one will finish off the plan - another 100 beds for Veterans.

Good morning everyone!

Four day week then off to Michigan for almost two weeks for Christmas. Looking forward to having winter break off. Should be a great time.

Believe me. I have a sack. Just ask my wife she has it. :D

I did ask bil if he had incriminating photos of his parents that he was bribing them with.

Bil response - "Why would you ask that?"

g - "Because, you have not worked in a long time and you have no money. However, you somehow manage a way to buy things that are very expensive like Twins season tix and a 2011 new Suburban."

Bil - "so?"

g - "so how the eff can you buy those things with no money?"

Silence..........................

g - (with a smartazz smirk on my face) "either you have incriminating pictures of your parents that you are bribing them with or you sell crack. you tell me."

Yeah, I'd be careful with that one in case he really does have an illicit side business. Don't want things to get all stabby stabby.

Just taught a co-worker the connotation behind calling someone "a tool". She had used it to mean resource, when the person she called a tool told her that wasn't very nice.
