Good morning Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Bacon controversy at work. ughhh.

We have a managers breakfast this morning where everyone brings in food and the managers cook for us. Appearantly last year, there was an issue with the bacon, and they wanted it precooked and left in crockpots to stay warm, and it was soggy and gross and what hadn't been precooked didn't get cooked enough.

So this year the managers decided no bacon. Well, I hadn't signed up to bring anything as of yesterday and I mentioned I could make candy bacon which I would have to precook to settle the precook controversy. I was joking, but the 3 people all told me yes, bring bacon. One even covered half the cost for bacon. So, I made candy bacon (thick cut bacon coated in brown sugar and cooked in the oven). It is delicious. But there's a whole upheavel about "no bacon".

Some of my favorite coworkers have already sampled the bacon. And one was saying "the bacon is so good" when my boss walked by. He said, "there is no bacon. who brought bacon?" I told him I did, and he didn't say anymore about it. But now I'm nervous about having brought bacon.

Whatever, it's delicious, and 'no bacon' is the stupidest idea ever.

wT wins the thread.

So, it's Thursday. BU has an away game at UNH tonight. I decided earlier in the season, when ordering all my away game tickets, that I was not going to go. Leaving early on a Friday to scoot out to a game is easier than on a Thursday. Plus, it's Thursday. I go out post work on Thursdays. Last year on this night BU played up at UNH and the game was on TV and hottie bartender let me watch it. This year, not on TV. So, I was thinking of going. Then on Monday I got a meeting maker for our team holiday outing. When? Tonight. 4-6pm. So I'm going to be leaving work early anyway. They've scheduled it for 4-6pm. After that's over, I think I will try to head over to have my usual Thursday night beverage and follow the game online.

Mornin' all. Getting ready to head west to escape real life for a bit. Realized I haven't seen Sloe and Quiz since March! Can't wait to hang with them, along with some other friends who may join us before the games.

soh: yeah, Tatu Baby I could work with. She seems to have good adaptability, too.

Indeed. If some moran had screwed up the eggs last year would they say no eggs? If the muffins had gotten burned, would they say no muffins?

Good job outa you!

Some people look at things and ask why.
wT looks at things and asks why not.

Wow MSP is dead today. And dumb question: what's with the checking the palms/swabbing them? That's a new one for me...

I believe that we need to round up a couple of shovels and then line up the no bacon people up against a brick wall, St. Valentines Day Massacre style.

It's so you stay pure and don't touch yourself during the flight. Trrbl rashes.

Things are finally starting to get good again for me at work. It's been a while.

Speaking of jobs. I need one!

It is highly unlikely my contract will get extended in January. So I am down to my last 2 weeks of work. I won't go into the lame corporate jargon used to explain why they can't extend contracts currently.

My guess it would be checking to see if you have handled explosives recently. More security theater I guess.

I guess that makes sense. Although it added a whole 30 seconds to my 3 minute trip through security. RABBLERABBLERABBLE! ;)
