No, no, the hints are not what any sane person would understand as hints. We are supposed to be able to read their minds. You clearly don't live with a woman.
Very true, but I was also just thinking of the situations where my buddies have gone on about their gift giving failures, then tell what their gfs and wives have said were hints, and then I just laugh at them. They were hung out to dry.

Worse, is that her birthday is on new years eve. The one night I don't like to go out.

Although being smart I used Open Table to make a reservation for that night already at a restaurant that we haven't been to yet.

Didn't Mel Gibson do some film all about that?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Morning, Loj.

goldy, I was going to come in here this morning and complain about my son's squirt team -- they got pasted twice this weekend, which is fine because they're only 9 and 10, and half the time they're being reminded which side of the faceoff they stand on :p -- but when your team literally stands there watching, and waves at the puck with outstretched arms instead of moving over to it, and changes direction by looping loooong and wide; and the opponent actually, you know, TRIES -- well, it's frustrating, even when it's an intentionally mellow rec league.

This doesn't mean there won't be parent-coach d1ck swinging contests later -- but your Woodbury story did help remind me we're glad to be where we are. (Now if my kid would only stop holding the stick like a quidditch broom whenever the play's away from him. :( :o )

Morning.

I'm considering renewing my gf's SiriusXM for 1-year as part of my xmas gift. Just not sure if she cares that much about it or not. It actually expired a couple months ago.

If not, i'll need some other item to complete the gift. She's been no help at all, giving no hint of what she might actually want.
That means she wants a ring. With something big and shiny on it.

I'm not a tequila girl, though.
Sometimes my Margaritas! are made with a tumbler of gin and a misting of vermouth. ;) "Margarita!" is like "Coke" down South - it covers the gamut.

That would be my guess as well UncleRay.

Good Morning Lodge.

Interesting weekend. Boys took the consolation crown in Duluth. Lost 2-1 in final pool play to a team from Ft. Williams, Ontario. In that one, one of our parents went to the bench to confront his son, which got physical and the cops were called. In the first game Sunday in consolation bracket one of the Woodbury coaches grabbed our player's hand in the handshake line and threatened to "have his kids break both his arms and both his legs". A tournament official than had to step between that coach and our player's dad in the lobby afterwards. There will be a board meeting in our association tonight and some very strong e-mails will be sent today to the Woodbury association.

Oh yeah, last night my glasses broke...

Hockey parents never cease to amaze.

How is it possible for someone with an electrical engineering degree to not know how (and have no interest in learning how) to solder?

Then again, she went to State. So maybe that's all the explanation I need.

I worked with a young woman who was an intern while I was a lowly tech. She was the daughter of the ME department head and had no idea how to solder. I laughed at her.

Was this in reference to an earlier post that I missed?

Got most of my Christmas shopping done today. Ended up spending more than I would've liked, but it's for the people I love, so what the heck?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

My girlfriend told me to get her something really expensive that she doesn't need. So I bought her a round of chemotherapy.

So I'm making a left turn onto my street coming home when my Jeep begins a pretty beefy sideways skid. Impressive skid considering I was in 4WD and barely moving, but I figure I must have hit a random patch of ice funny and think nothing of it.

I get home and see Facebook blowing up, and I learn I just drove through a 5.8 earthquake.
