Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Back home from a quick trip up north to celebrate Thanksgiving.

About 30 family members were present. I flirted with food coma. Four turkeys were made and prepared in different ways. In addition there was a ham and a prime rib with all the fixins. Food was fantastic.

Terrible car ride home. Cold with mixed rain and snow and very windy! Two and a half hour ride turned into almost four hours.............

have they run out of corn-fed blondes in that part of the country? say it ain't so?!!!

It's mookie. Just sayin'. ;)

Although the Twin Cities area is one of the tops in the nation for Hmong residents.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

No, we have not run out of corn-fed blondes. :)

Good Thanksgiving with the family and our neighbors. A few years ago we combined since her husband passed away over 10 years ago and the middle daughter now lives in Switzerland with her husband, which just leaves three of them. They made a desert that was ice cream and creme de menthe. You could really taste the liqueur. Interesting end to the night as I went to throw something away in our garbage bin outside, and out jumps a raccoon. Sneaky little b*******.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Good morning from Syracuse, NY on the NY State Thruway. Got to my aunt's yesterday to hear my cousin went into labor with her first kid. She wasn't due till December 14th. Got a call from her at 6:30 saying she was 8cm and had the epidural. My cousin, pregnant cousin's brother, convinced my aunt we should just go. I said I'd join them.

So, just like that we packed up and hit the road at 8:50pm. We were going to drive straight thru but decided to catch some sleep to be safe. We had just shut the light to go to sleep when the call came, it's a boy!!!!!

We're up and on the road and will be cutting through Canada. Probably about 3 hours or so till the border. Gonna nap for a bit before I take over the driving.

Good Morning Lodge.

Good luck on the road trip Scarlet, hope you have better driving than we do here.

Yesterday when I came back from picking Jr up, it was warm and pleasant with people out jogging in shorts and t-shirts. By 6 PM snow was flying and it turned cold and windy with a little snow accumulation last night. Very blustery and cold right now, wind chills about 0-5.

Seems like hockey weather so we must be getting ready to go to a rink...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Good morning all and safe travels, Scarlet.
Drove by a couple of Wal-Mart's and Target stores last night around 8pm and there was a line to get in? Morons.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Yep, gonna take the long way 'round to get to work today; stupid mall traffic (believe it or not, it does "bleed" over close to the area where I live).

Good Morning, Lodge!

Getting a remote starter installed today and upgrading the phone plan.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Well, that was, um, interesting. Our guys won 21-1, shots were 69-7. Scored 28 seconds in, gave one up on their first shot about 30 seconds later then kept it in their end the rest of the game, even on PK. Mandotry 4 passes before shooting after it was about 7-1. Our C teams would have killed this team. Next game tomorrow should be better, either Wayzata or Stillwater.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Glad the cake eaters didn't go for two.
Who did you play?

Spring Lake Park. The team only has 11 skaters and 1 goalie. Only 8 skaters and an alleged goalie showed up. They stopped adding goals to the scoreboard after it was 9-1. They needed two sheets for scoring - and this time it wasn't for the penalties...

I received a Black Friday ad from my insurance agent. Really? You can't discount your insurance rates, so why bother?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Byooooootiful day in 202-land and in 301-land. I didn't enter 703-land but it looked fine from the Georgetown waterfront. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #158: Lodge Member's Habits

Made it! Crazy hail and snow the last 45 minutes of the trip. Heading to her room now.
