Happy Thanksgiving Lodge! About to sit down to a meal of ribeye steak, roasted broccoli, mashed potatoes, some bread, and a glass of Pinot Noir.

Mmmmm, pinot noir. Happy Thanksgiving Bob! And to the rest of the Lodge as well!! Hope you all have a festive and delicious afternoon.

Heading over to my aunt's later this afternoon. Not eating till 5:00. Not to thrilled about that. But it's giving me a chance to catch up on some recorded shows and do some laundry.

Yeah goldy's lad and the rest of the volunteers at CDH.

One of Mrs's clients was one of the original crew when he was a soph at STA. One of his buddies came up with the idea and they cooked two turkey dinners in his buddy's kitchen. Now about 19,000 dinners with over 700 volunteers. Jr was there at 5:30 till about 10 directing traffic to get the drivers lined up to pick up the boxes from the runners. Then he drove home - all the way from St. Paul!

And Scarlet, Pinot Noir goes great with turkey. I have a bottle picked out for that.

I about **** my pants when I walked into the kitchen this morning. Our daughter flew home from Texas to surprise us!
Warms the cockles of your heart :)

This sounds better than turkey (never my favorite)

Good morning Lodge.

Currently hanging at Caribou with little g as a reward for his great report card.

Just finished up with conferences with little g and his teacher. Good stuff. Little g is off the charts in reading and math. Plus he is very social and quite popular wit the kids. He obviously has issues with physical stuff but that is expected. This kid has touched the lives of so many people. At the conclusion of the conference his teacher nearly broke down in explaining how special little g is. ( his teacher is a guy. Tough football type guy)

can't wait to hear about lil g getting his first asian! :D

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Paul Allan, Vikings announcer, retweeted a marvelous picture of a turkey completely covered in bacon. I thought of all of you. Have a great day!

Very cool! :D

I'm at the girlfriends for thanksgiving. Rest of my family is scattered to the four winds. Earlier Tremaine and I took her dog Onyx for a walk around her neighborhood. She thought it was a good idea to let him off the leash for a bit in a local tennis court. It's all fenced in other than 2 enterances. Had fun there for a bit, then he saw the other exit and she couldn't beat him to it. He ran around the houses for a bit, going in and out of back yards. Almost got smacked when he ran out on the service drive. Finally got him cornered in a back yard and got ahold of him. He's down in his room in the basement thinking about what he did.

Currently sitting down waiting for the feast to get ready and watching the Lions game.

Onyx go to box and feel shame.

Have some family from NJ up for Thanksgiving, good to see my little cousins, if only for today. Back up to hunting camp tonight to resume the search for Bambi. Hunting tomorrow, then back to paradise Saturday morning!

Yeah. Bad thing is I'm taking him with me tonight to babysit him for the weekend. He loves it at my place.

Sitting in the blind with my little bro. Haven't seen anything yet, but we've heard 5 shots (four other people are out on my uncle's 200 acres right now). We've only been out for about an hour and a half, but we're hoping in this last hour here, Bambi will come out to play.

Our turkey was terrific. Injected with garlic oil, rubbed with pepper, bay leaf, rosemary and garlic. Lemons and garlic inside, cinnamon, lemon and more rosemary in the water pan and apple and alder chips for the smoke. Juicy and flavorful.

Ate just enough to avoid a food coma. Crappy drive home thanks to a snow/rain mix and high winds; thankfully the roads haven't gotten really icy yet, although I imagine that there will be a ton of accidents tonight on the highways.

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday!
