Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #156: The Ultimate Showdown

I love (and by love, I mean hate) when I have to clear my cache to make sure a correction on our intranet site has take effect. I have to then go back to all of my non-work sites to log back in. #firstworldproblems

when clearing cache you should be able to to keep logins with the newer browsers (checkbox). But I spose at work you are stuck with something older.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #156: The Ultimate Showdown

My first guess would be too much booze. Or, maybe, too little booze.

I think you're on to something there. I probably should start drinking right now, in case it's not too late. I'll report back later.

Coolant leak on in the turbo is a fairly easy/minor problem to fix. Hopefully it is just a gasket on the high pressure side coolant line, where it bolts to the turbo housing, but it could be a bad seal in the turbo itself. Worst case is probably a new turbo. What size engines do they have on a boat like that? QSK19's?

Apparently they got it fixed this morning, so must have been pretty minor. We've got KTA-38M1 I believe is the model. 2100 total rated HP. These bad boys are a soot machine, good God.

Eck, that sounds ALL too familiar, Goldy. Best wishes for a recovery.

Mrs Goldy found out some more. Turns out her dad has a couple more cracked vertebrae lower down as well. Hospital was going to release him until one of the SILs insisted they find him a short stay location for rehab.

Huh, bigger than I thought, I was guessing that you'd have several smaller engines as opposed to a few larger ones, but I really don't know how a boat like that is setup. That is an older engine, so yeah, it'll be a little smokey. The new ones are clean.

Am I the only one that does not have Monday off for the Columbus Day holiday?

Nah, we just have the two mains, and 2 gens. Very, very few boats have 3 engines, virtually none have more than that.

Who knows if they'll pop out our other engine and replace it with the same model next year for our scheduled shipyard, or if they'll go with a Cat engine. A sister boat of ours had the Cats put in a few months ago for their shipyard.

Flying outta Birmingham tomorrow afternoon, and should be home by 8pm. I couldn't have HOPED for that back up in NY.

I will be home both Monday and Tuesday, probably getting my brakes fixed on my car one of those days.
