going to be a bit rough trying to walk my sleep back... up way too late last night... just fell asleep on my couch... woke up... 12:30... blah.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

My kid's U4 soccer team got accused of running up the score in the game last night. That was entertaining. They are 4, I seriously doubt some of them could even keep track of the score or count that high. I'd say it was almost worse then USA vs. Nigeria basketball. The other team didn't even get a shot off and rarely crossed mid field.

Crazy... but awesome to watch when you're on the winning end of it.

You know, if you've got a team full of *******s that's one thing. Losing sucks, losing big sucks... but I've NEVER blamed the other team. I'm just ****ed we couldn't do better.

I'm sick of this "oh, you shouldn't play" type stuff. Whatever. If they are young they are honing their skills... if they're older you are trying to avoid developing bad habits. If your opponent quits its different.

When my id was 4, none of the kids had any idea of the score. They all thought they won every game. Of course ever team always scored at least one goal.

I hate having to write or call customers to say "* you. We are not going to redo the order because your customer doesn't like the product because it came from a different die lot" in business jargon. Especially with jerk customers.

So just shorten it to "* you."

This should be the end of the argument. If half of them aren't eating dandelions during the game, that's progress.

This.

One kid started rolling down a little hill every time the ball went out of bounds But even he had some pretty good defensive moments. And every time play stopped, at least one asked if it was snack time. I got the dominant kids to actually pass a few times and only 2 or 3 of the 8 kids didn't score in the game. So I thought that was pretty good. Actually saw skill improvement towards the end of the game. Good times! :)

Good news... my journal article wasn't entirely rejected from JASA. Bad news, a lot of work to be done. I won't look at referee's opinions until I'm either plenty drunk or Monday. A lot better people have been rejected outright so we'll see what happens.

Good evening Lodge.

Mrs. g played an evil trick on me today. Came home from work and the boys were excited to inform me that they made cookies today. Oatmeal raisin cookies............

If we're keeping score during a sporting event played by 4 year olds, we're doing something wrong in the first place.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Well, today at work was.....interesting. Offsite is getting more racking/frames built. It came in today, filling 2 52' semitruck trailers. Also, with the inbound trailer, that meant that 3 of our 4 dock doors were taken up the entire day, instead of just one. We have five carriers use the dock doors within about 90 minutes at the end of the day. There's hassle #1.

The frames were placed outside in the lot (lack of room inside). The racking.....well, half the racking toppled over in the trailer when the metal banding snapped, meaning the bosses had to handstack six 8-foot pallets of racking (each pallet was about 4 feet high with racking), extending the unloading time by about 3 hours, plus making my offsite co-worker and I stage our outbound stuff in other various areas, since the restacking was done in our normal staging area. Hassle #2.

Finally, in their infinite wisdom, the bosses let 3 of our 8 forklift jockeys (main building) have vacation today (normally, no more than 2 people have the same day off at the main building, and almost NEVER 2 forklift jockeys on the same day, due to business needs. So, yep, another late night. Hassle #3.

So, I think I'll pour me a drink.

A pretty nasty storm just rolled through. Heads up cityslickerville.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

So the West parking ramp at MoA patially collapsed...

Yikes!

In much less important news, jr's team beat Mavsy's team 10-3. Was in running time with 12 minutes left in the second period (6 goal cushion) so we almost got the rink back on schedule. Jr had a great chance but managed to hit the goalie in the glove with it. Was a real rout until our guys started taking a string of dumb penalties. Had 1 or 2 in the box for pretty much the last 12 minutes of the game.
