A side trip to Esky? That's... well, why? It's not like there aren't a ton of good restaurants in the Hoton-Handcock area, and that's a solid 2 1/2ish hour drive. Hit Rosy's on the way back if you must :p

Brent: at the end of Washington, across-ish from Bullwinkles.

Drive to esky and back to Houghton for breakfast? **** that noise.

It was what, 3 hours one way? Leave early on Fri or Sat morn, eat, drive back. Just because it's there. ;) Besides, imagine the looks on Rosy's face when a crapload of Gopher jerseys/etc walk in.....

And yeah, I think that's where I was for a GPL hangout. Actually, pretty darn sure.

Good evening Lodge.

Just got back from watching the Avengers. So so.

You know what else you could do with those 6 1/2 hours of your life?

Wake up, eat breakfast in Houghton, take a picture of yourselves in Gopher jerseys, mail it and $40 to Rosy, and drink for 6 hours.

No sense of adventure. Although hitting it up on the way home is probably a saner idea.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #152: Next to get married?

It isn't adventure if I've already driven that road and eaten there, moran. :p

Technicality. Spontaneous doesn't work, since the idea has been mentioned. Maybe it's just an insane idea. And that's why I like it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #152: Next to get married?

I'm starting to worry about the interview... not the interview itself but the company... seems they talk big about bringing in youth... and I see the complaints online about "work-life balance". I've already burned myself out once. I won't and can't go to that well again. That'd almost be worse than where I am now... at least there are people who have been there awhile (because of lack of better options)... so at least somebody knows something.

on the other hand, the website with posted ratings has them only slightly below SAS... SAS is well known for being one of the best places to work in the country.

It is that, and hey, you could get more chocolate while you're there!

I could! And, the chocolate covered cherries are still good. Barely saved them, but they were saved. And they are still delicious.

If you want to not get the job, worry about work-life balance and burning yourself out. :p Otherwise, leave that for if/when they make you an offer.

This. Something about crossing bridges when you come to them. Or burning them. Your choice. ;)
