Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

She is a student teacher right now. I'm concerned that she got most of the way through some teaching program with an English focus and still writes an e-mail like that to us parents. And that she is supposed to be teaching the final unit in my son's class.

Where is she a student?

And no attempt was made to inform you of the complaints and allow for you to improve performance before termination, i.e. a performance review?

This sounds fishy. Methinks they've been wanting you out and this was their excuse. I'd be contacting HR or your union rep if you have one. If you've had nothing but favorable performance reviews in the past before you were fired, present them. Did they terminate several people or just you?

Yeah, and I'm with Twitchboy on that Bob. You did say something about looking for another job earlier on facebook a day or two ago. I doubt they would have moved just that fast with it, but I would think that they might have had a feeling you was looking anyways. Plus, you might have been coming up on some bonus or pay increase as well. My money is that they find it cheaper to train somebody new to do your job than what it is to pay you that extra nickle in your paycheck.
Prior to today, I was told that I was doing well, that my numbers were going up and I could be considered for promotion. However, I have a hunch that since they hired a spate of new demonstrators, they were looking to cut back somewhere and the axe fell on me. I don't have an HR or union rep to go to; their corporate office is in Plano, TX. That being said, I still think it was a weasel move firing me via phone... I had no opportunity to answer the charges against me.

Also, one of my dad's friends is an unemployment lawyer. Gave me some solid advice for when it comes to filing for unemployment, and also told me that these "complaints" will not make me toxic to future potential employers.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

Just saw his Facebook post about it. I have no idea who that is, but I'm sure he'll wear jeans, boots, neat hat and twang a lot.

There was actually a decent article on him in a recent issue of Rolling Stone. Sounds like he's still a regular whiskey-drinkin' good ol' boy redneck, and doesn't really give two craps about fame; although it mentions that he's extremely competitive (as in out to prove he's the best). Also, in mentions that after they were fired from their first tour as an opening band (for playing too long), they would do state fairs and such. He'd send out his guitarist before the show to play Pantera instrumentals to drive the old people out. That last part I think it pretty cool.

That being said, I'm still not a fan of the music overall.

At the restaurant where hottie bartender's girlfriend works. I ordered a Lavender Lemon Drop with a sugar rim and it came without the sugar rim. I'll have to report that back to hottie bartender. Maybe that will be the deciding factor for him to officially end it.

Maybe she knows why you're there and is sending you a message. :p

That's plausible as well. If you didn't seem happy there and they knew you were going to fly the coop next chance you got, they might as well cut their losses.

They didn't mention that. They were dead set on the nature of these "complaints." Then again, the way I see it, a trained monkey could have done my job.

But the sun rises tomorrow, and I'm going back to Michigan Works and applying for even more positions. Throw enough dirt, something will stick.

Assuming that your reviews were, in fact, positive, then piecing these two together seems like a plausible answer. Also, if you weren't one to try and curry favor with your former boss, he might've just decided to keep his lapdogs and train more from the new hires, leaving him free to eliminate you.

Good Morning Lodge.

Send me a keychain?;)

Glad to know I'm well known for one of the dumbest things in my life.:p

Ahem, maybe a link here. . . you may not want to have a bottle opener key chain. Just sayin'. ;)

Going for a quick interview this morning. Opening came up suddenly late yesterday. Probably not the best fit, but we'll see.

Praying for you Bob, keep on keepin' on.
This

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! friday. when is night?

Exhausted. Didn't get home until around 10 last night. Lil is done for the season but ran 10:26 for 2 miles (first mile was 5:03 !!) 9 seconds better than his PR. So wired I couldn't get to sleep forever. 5:30 came very early.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

Good morning, Lodge. Day one of unemployment, so I'll spend it searching for new work and I might even make some cookies. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

Everyone < Eric Church Holy hell, what a show. There is no one making better music at this time. He played a ton of songs, many more than I thought he would, including some that weren't singles that I am a big fan of, like an acoustic version of Two Pink Lines, Carolina and These Boots. I was a bit surprised that he finished with Springsteen, but it definitely worked. There were 2 songs that I missed, that I wished he would have played: What I Almost Was and Ain't Killed Me Yet.

He's pretty outspoken about that. He has come out and said that he's going to be one of the iconic names of country music by the time he's done, the kind of influence that defines, and maybe shifts the genre. He expects it to be: Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Eric Church. So those of you that haven't heard of him, I would expect that would change soon, he's the real deal.
