Caught the limit on crappies in an hour and a half. The fish fry tomorrow will be glorious.

'Morning, all! Getting a long run out of the way shortly, then I will be spending the day out at Park Point. :)

There's no "may be" about it - they ARE mandatory. Try making fun of John Deere while you're out there and see how that flies. I have a friend from high school who went there because he couldn't get into an actual school, all he had to do was draw breath (his words), and he couldn't tell a horse from a cow before he got there. When he got back after his first year he's correcting me in the most adamant way possible short of fisticuffs when I misidentified a Quonset hut as a barn. I still can't tell the difference.

I think UND sendd an acceptance letter to all MN high school seniors. :D

Pulled pork is awesome.

I did up a pulled pork for Memorial Day - was muy bien. :)

I think I may be the only woman from my high school graduating class not currently expecting a baby or already a parent. Holy crap. Every other post on my Facebook feed is either a massively swollen midsection or a drooling mini-human. Am I an oddity that I am 26 and neither have kids nor the desire for them?

/meaning no offense to tLodge parents, just had to get that off my chest.

A biological oddity most likely because if it was common the human race would have gone extinct long ago. My experience is that a not insignificant segment of our generation is choosing to not have children for whatever reason (we are still a significant minority).

Valid point.
It's not something that is completely off the table. It's more of a, "certainly not right now, and if it happens or not down the road, OK" type of thought. Still, I'm starting to feel like I'm doing something wrong by not reproducing already.

You're fine. I pretty much knew I never wanted kids by the time I was your age. After having dated a mother or two in the past after that, and having a current opportunity now, I'm pretty set in my decision.

Cousin's HS grad was at Mariucci today. Pretty sweet seeing her on the video scoreboard. Wish we had one of those in Houghton. :p

Nope. Mr les and I were just together at 26 and in those days one did not have a baby without the ring. We waited until I was 34. The rest of our friends have had their kids grad from college. We are still parents of a HS kid.

My dad was almost 31, and mom was almost 28 (within a couple months of those milestones) when I was born, and I also have a younger brother by two years.

From what I've learned over the years, midwesterners just generally like to start their families earlier in life as opposed to the coasts. I'm gonna guess that dates back due to farming needs (in uber-stone-cold-honest terms).
