Hoping to get through this day without too much drama. need to leave right at 4pm to head home. My niece/goddaughter graduate high school tonight. I feel old.

I have no idea what "way out" means in Fooper terms, but ok.

And Scarlet, I dread the day my nieces graduate, since that will also make me feel really old.

Nah, I've been delayed before once we were already pushed back and in line for take off. It's usually a mechanical thing though.

That's because they either need the gate or the pilots don't start getting paid until they push, so they taxi to an out of the way area and wait. It's called an EDCT (expected departure clearance time). They receive that when they get thier route clearance...before they push.

Funny story: Yesterday was Rube's Day, my hockey team's day where we go golfing and then party it up afterwards. HockeyBum and I were the last pairing of the team to tee off, we had two foursomes of teammates before us. It's the one time a year I go golfing, which also explains why my 5 wood is the only club I can use well with some regularity. At any rate, on the 13th hole I was about 150 yards out and I was looking at an elevated green relative to my position, maybe 10 yards. Now, my shots tend to not get the loft that good golfers get - they do get loft, just not much loft. Well, at any rate, I take out the 5 wood because of all of that, and hit the ball, not thinking for a second I'd get anywhere near my buddies still putting. I hit the captain of my team square in the leg off a single bounce. He stole my ball.

I don't think it helped that earlier in the day HockeyBum missed one of the other guys in that foursome, Jeff who writes game reviews for GPL, by about 5 yards. Our problem is that we both suck and therefore play the ball with the assumption that we'd screw up the shot. Well, on those two times, we screwed up the screwing up. :)

I hear ya about golfing. I've played maybe twice in the past 5 years, and I play like I'm gonna screw up the shot, also.

Mornin' all. One of my buddies is getting a Get Out Of The House pass for tonight because his wife is having a girl's night. Heading out to TK's (he's wondering what it's like) to catch Maiden Dixie (actually not a bad band; they even play AC/DC).

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! silly saturday

Rainy day. Great day to catch up on a bunch of stuff. Not the slightest bit motivated to do so. I think I am going to make a nice cup of cocoa and sort pictures. I started last yr sorting thru all my pics of the season (this time track) and then giving each Sr a disc with their classmates on it. Now it is a tradition (6th season) and everyone looks forward to it. I am glad they like it but it takes for ever to sort thru 20K of pictures. I really need to figure out a better way to do it as I go along. This yr there are 20 something Srs. It keeps getting bigger.
