Ready for the long weekend....but in the meantime, work doesn't look like it will be too bad today, so I won't complain. Dinner and a movie date tonight, then crazyness at Brent's tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, I know that, but it doesn't mean they do. And if anything were to happen (my wake capsizing any small boats type of deal) I'm responsible. I have to literally do everything I can to avoid them, even though they should be out of my way. Messed up, isn't it?

Good morning Lodge.

Off today through Wednesday. Mrs. g is going to be visiting her best friend from college in cityslickerville this weekend. Her friend was diagnosed with breast cancer recently and Mrs. g is going to hang with her and assist in whatever way she can.

Getting ready to hang with little g and his class as they are taking a field trip to the park this morning. In the meantime, I am killing time at Caribou consuming caffeine.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Good Morning Lodge.

Found out jr lied to us about a school assignment. :mad: Not the first time he has done this. He is now officially grounded all weekend. No TV, no internet, stay on our property (after I take him to the library so he has books to read). Can't go across the street to shoot baskets with the other kids in the neighborhood. Mrs. and I will NOT be grounded though so I'll disable the TV and internet when we leave just so he's not tempted. Worst thing was - it was a stupid, unnecessary lie. :confused: Had to know he'd get caught and he didn't need to tell it.

Dang, I wanted to go to see The Avengers as a family this weekend. Not sure if the Mrs and I will go without him. May go to a movie he wouldn't want to go to instead.

Reading the political threads around here does nothing but remind me how much a certain portion of our society makes me want to start shooting things.

Are you taking your modem and cables with you while you're out of the house? I would think it hard to enforce. When I was a kid, my buddy's parents would ground him all the time because of stupid things he did. We would all congregate at his house and get real quiet when his parents would call. He had some easy groundings. and they had a cordless phone, so we'd be outside in the large backyard playing football, baseball, or whatever, which made things all that much better.

Hey kids, Happy Friday. Been kinda sucky here at work. Difficult client on a project with no time to spare, driving me crazy. I've already talked to my boss about refusing this work for the next meeting. It's not worth the stress or aggravation. And to top it off, I got in this morning to a dead computer. Spent over an hour with the help(less) desk. Got it working but apparently there is still something wrong with it that had to be elevated to get it fixed. And they'll contact me within three business days. Whatever.

I shouldn't have stopped drinking last night.

Yes. Also the laptop. He can watch things recorded on the DVR or pull down a DVD or try to play games on the tower, but he runs the risk of getting his grounding extended. He's really not very good at being sneaky - we always catch him.

When I got in trouble as a kid, my dad always just took the keys to my 4-wheeler, that sucked.

I would be stuck inside. Sucked as I would watch all of my friends run around the neighborhood having fun.

I don't recall ever being grounded either. Had to eat lava soap occasionally, and the 4 wheeler thing, which I solved when I bought my own when I was 14, then I hid the keys from my dad. :D

If he's in trouble go see it....will make it sting even worse. :)
I remember taking part of the power brick for junior's X-Box when we took that away from him for something....then i couldn't remember where I hid it. Whoops! :D

I don't recall being grounded much but I did a lot of yard work when I got in trouble.

to be honest, if you're my dad i'd get myself grounded just to see you do all this chit!!! :D :D keep unhooking and hooking back everything pops!! i can close my eyes and rub one or two out while y'all are gone :p
