Edit. Took Both the boys to get cut last night. Summer buzz cuts. Both cuts cost $10.00 total. I gave her a $20.00. (Both kids myself and Mrs. g see the same stylist.)

FWIW in the last week little g has lost both front teeth.
Awww. I bet he looks adorable. :)

Morning Lodge.

Jr. and Mrs are going to get haircuts tonight. I don't know, and don't ask, what they pay when jr goes to the stylist with her. I know he likes getting shampooed and getting to read the tabloids we only otherwise see in the supermarket. I often take him to Great Clips or Fantastic Sam's, whichever has the shortest wait or the best deal/coupon going at the time. I often go to Sam's on Tuesday evening which is "Men's Day" and get a cut for, I think, about $11 versus the usual $13 or so.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

I go to Fantastic Sam's during the week because it's next door to Target. I stop off on the way home from work and usually have a coupon to make it $10.99 + tip ($3 to $5, depending on how nice and hot the woman is); I do this as my stop before buying groceries at Target on Tuesday nights every fourth week.

My only problem with Sam's is that I have to remember to tell the woman cutting my hair that I don't want the clippers used for the Marine Corps high and tight look. Nothing against the marines, but I'm not one and my head's not shaped well for the high and tight look.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

I should just cut it myself. I could pull it off. I'm good with a clipper, I fit all of my, my sister's and my cousins' steers/heifers at all the shows, including 4 Grand Champions.
Yeah, but you're also getting to look at where you're working at with those heifers. The back of your head, not so much unless you're really good with mirrors. You might just be better off getting a Flowbee.

Yawn. got another 5 wagons of hay supposedly on the way tonight. think I'm going to go get some lunch here and then go take a nap for that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

The two barber shops I go to are $12-13, and I usually give them a couple bucks on top of that, so I'm at $15.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #150: Everyone sucks... except Scarlet

Why would a guy need to go to a stylist, unless he's queer? I think I pay too much at Great Clips. I'm used to $9 hair cuts from an actual barber not some stylist or beauty school dropout.
It has to do with hair length. A buzz isn't going to require a trained stylist - a chimp could pretty much do that. However, anything longer than that definitely requires someone with more skill - otherwise you're rolling the dice with your appearance and hoping they don't **** it up badly. Plus if you're making a reasonable income, spending an extra $20 or whatever every 6 weeks to look good isn't such a bad investment.

Guys shouldn't have hair long enough that it can't get cut by a barber with a clippers.

You're wrong. Any cut actually worth paying for will use more than just clippers, I don't care if you have the classic number 7 from the cut selection poster that has been on the shop wall since it opened in 1954.
