So. Dell is sending me a new hard drive for the lapper. I am mildly impressed.

Now to see about groceries for the week...

You're going to try to get Dell to send you groceries? ;)

Just make sure you get to Rudy's Country Store for some intro-level barbeque. And Shepler's for some boots, or a shirt at least. Make bbdl proud. :p

My son left his phone and learner's permit in his shorts. I just washed them. The LP is a lump of wet paper. The phone is non-functional. Happy enough to be doing laundry on Mother's day. Happier to deal with drama at the end of a day that wasn't exactly centered on me the Mum.

15$ and time to get a copy of the LP. 24 hours in rice for the phone and in all likelihood a switch over to one of our old phones until August when we are due for an upgrade. Sigh.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

It was a good weekend for me. Fridat night the gf was having a party, so i went there, which was fun. Saturday we woke up and went down towards the farm, checked out the bluffs in Red Wing. She even made me climb one of them. Later on we stopped at a nursery to get some blueberry bushes for my mom for mothers day. Then we went to the farm, my parents got to meet my gf, and we ended up going out to eat with my godfather and his wife. We sat around and relaxed most of today, with a quick trip to Coldstone for some ice cream.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

I have Red Sox tickets. Weather has the potential to be crappy. Of course.

She even made me climb one of them.

I would have loved to see that. I just can't see it, even knowing your background. :D

Scarlet: re: work: you and me both, honey.

These next few weekends are shaping up to be a little hectic for me. Glad I took it easy this weekend.

Made a visit to see my mom at the nuthouse today. The "stylist" who cuts my mom's hair at $36/cut should get her credentials revoke. And I need to spend more time reviewing the schedule of events more before going there. When I showed up, they were 15 minutes into "church", singing a lot of songs with this quartet of pastors leading the whole thing. A sneaking suspicion crept over me as I felt like lightning bolts were going to appear from the sky and torch me while sitting through the session with my mom. She kept trying to distract the woman next to her, yelling out smart arse comments to the pastors, and all the while with this heathen sitting next to her. The one cool thing though is that "church" consisted of singing a couple Johnny Cash songs (Ring of Fire and I Walk the Line), some old Hollywood movie songs, and some Christian songs that had made into popular culture over the years, but I couldn't tell you the names of the songs.

Tomorrow is going to be 80 and sunny. It will also be a good day for me to get home and change the oil in my car.

With apologies, this sounds like something out of a Darren Aronofsky movie.

Yeah, I did the whole wallet left in my pants bit a few times when I was younger, now I usually make it a point to just empty my pants whenever I go into the house. Dump whatever is in my pocket and put it into my hat. seems to be a pretty good system.

Squeee!!!!! Just saw in the local paper here that they're putting on Avenue Q at the Croswell in Adrian. Just might have to drag the Girlfriend to go see that next weekend. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Morning. Should be leaving Port Arthur by noontime, then starting our trek to Congo, WV. We're very much on pace for me to potentially get off the boat up there, where I'll hopefully get to drive home, which would be very nice. Not that I mind flying, but I'll get home much quicker by driving, and cost the company less money in the process.

I thought the companies goal was to make you take as many strange connecting flights as possible when going home. If they could make it take 3 days they would! :D

I'm not sure about taking as many strange connecting flights, since I usually only connect through CLT or ATL, but if they did that, I'd be handing in my 2 weeks notice as I got off the boat... for 2 weeks. ;)
