Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Morning. Happy Mother's Day to the applicable lodge members (Is Les the only one?).

Gotta figure out something awesome for my sister's graduation next Saturday. I'm in the dogpound because this will be her second graduation I won't be there for (was in Europe when she graduated HS, now working for her college graduation.)

I think a new car would do it. I hear those are popular graduation presents.

Given that this is mother's day, it got me thinking about those with twins and I had two questions. 1) Would doctors falsify birth records to show that a set of twins were born on the same day in the event that one was born a few minutes prior to midnight and the other born a few minutes after midnight just to say the twins had the same birthday? 2) Do you think that older twins ever call their younger siblings "After Birth"?

For Clown and LWB, I have a question about finding something to do in Cloudy town this coming weekend in the Travel Tips thread. Thanks for any ideas.

I have absolutely no idea what there is to do in St. Cloud at this time of year. I'm generally only there during the school year. Off hand, I'd say you could check out the River Bats, if you have time and they're in town - think St. Paul Saints level of play. I don't think the Munsinger Gardens would be planted yet, and I doubt a kid your son's age would even be interested in those. If he wants to get an early feel for schools, St. John's has an amazing campus and it's only about 10-15 minutes away, depending upon where you are in the city. SCSU's under construction with the upgrades to the NHC and new science/engineering building (I think that's started). Besides that, it was never what I would consider a beautiful campus when I was in school there during the 90's, but things may have changed; I couldn't tell you the last time I was on campus north of 10th St.

Thanks. Maybe we'll just go to the mall and hang out. Hi second game that day is in the main rink at the NCC.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Lodge moms! :)

And my adopted "mom" loved her gift; she gave me a great big hug after she opened it!

Val's for their fries. Otherwise I got nothin'.

gmann: well played, sir.

Had fun with the LWBs last night; some great convo covering all topics, hit a couple townie-type bars. One of them had karoake, and found that it was the same guy who used to do karoake at a bar some of my other friends and I frequented many years ago. We had lost track of him a long time ago after that bar closed (he wasn't exactly your normal karoake guy: he'd yell "Attitude Check" and the crowd would give him the finger and yell "F* YOU!", that sort of thing), so it was nice to see he was still around.

goldy - Bo Diddley's in St. Joe's for subs. Very good. :)

My daughter has a couple sets of twins in her high school class, I think she told me one set has different birthdays.

They used to have a spot right off 6th Ave S, the back side of Coburn's (just to the north of the SCSU campus, next to the video rental shop. They were good. I think the one near campus closed, though. I remember getting a bucket of beer and a sub for something like $10.

So. Dell is sending me a new hard drive for the lapper. I am mildly impressed.

Now to see about groceries for the week...
