Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Good morning lodge. Glad that its Friday, and I forsee an extremely boring day of work. But then after work I'm heading over to the girlfriend's place, where she's making dinner (well she's making it, but she wants me to teach her how to make homemade alfredo sauce, which is about as easy as it gets). Then we're going out on the town, over in the Grand Ave area, for one of her friends birthdays. Some fancy shmancy place, so I'm breaking out the sport coat and classing it up again.

Neat hat, I'm assuming. It's like the AmEx card, you don't leave home without it.

Hopefully it's a slow day at work today; this week has been insane.

It's like an effin full time job keeping all the clutter posts off of fb. I looked at Social Fixer Brent, but a) I can't use it at work, and b) it doesn't work on IE anyways. Would be fine for home use though.

No wonder I didn't bother using this site for so long.

Ah, ok. Odd you can't use it at work, but you can use FB. And well, IE....we all know how most of us feel about that. ;)

If you click on the little down arrow in the top corner of the posts on your newsfeed, you can have facebook block posts from certain people, or entities. It takes a while to catch everything, and occasionally new stuff pops up, but since I started doing that, I have much, much less junk that comes up. Almost all of the stuff on my newsfeed is actual status updates from friends/pictures from friends, and stuff that I may actually care about.

Yea, I've been doing that for every new thing I add as a 'like'. Also have been deleting posts about updates I make to my profile. Those are pointless!

If you keep doing it, you'll eventually get rid of most of the junk, its just that there is so much junk out there, it takes a while to build a list of blocked posts.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Hi Lodge. Finally Friday. Hopefully not as crazed today as it's been the past few days but it is only 9:20, so who knows.

So, last night I went out to my usual place. We were celebrating the birthday of one of my co-workers and as she has joined me on a few occasions on my Thursdays, she wanted to celebrate there. When the friend that was planning it told me that, I was a little leery because it's not really a place for a big crowd to hang out and drink, you know? I didn't think there were enough places at the bar for all of us to sit, etc. My friend that planned it said "that's OK, some are just coming for drinks and most will leave and then they'll probably be four of us left to eat." Naturally, more people came, the restaurant happened to be really crowded last night, and as such it got a little loud. There was a table in the bar area where these older women were seated and one witch in particular was so ridiculously agitated by us. I went to the ladies room and while I was in the stall, I heard her come in and she was like "Uh! *big sigh* The NOISE!!" like, three times. I don't think she knew I was in there. It was so bizarre. So, it was 8:30 and we wanted food but since there was still so many of us I was like, we can't eat here, there's no room. I was getting a little uncomfortable because a few in our party had more to drink and were getting a little loud (though I know it is a bar area and everyone in the restaurant was talking, etc) and one of them dropped a drink and one cut her hand on the glass....I really wanted to go somewhere where we could all sit and eat. We were leaving and that bizarre woman raised her hands above her head and clapped. I mean, who does that???? I said sorry to hottie bartender as I felt like maybe we were a little too loud for that kind of place. He was like "What are you sorry for??" Which made me feel better, but still. I feel kinda weird. It's like, I brought these people to my place and they made a scene (which they didn't) and now it will reflect on me......which is totally stupid.

OK, so that was my morning rant/vent/whatever. Work to do........

Good Morning Lodge.

Some fancy shmancy place, so I'm breaking out the sport coat and classing it up again.
Big belt buckle too?

Dropped jr off to shadow a kid at BSM this AM and Mrs and I met with an admissions person. I still wonder how MNS turned out like he did after seeing so much of that school. How did he not get smarter there? ;)

Kid jr is shadowing is a 9th grader who played varsity hockey this past season and was a 3 year A honor role student at jr's current middle school. So not really much in common except they both like hockey and go to the same church.

Big belt buckle too?
Yes. Buckle, suede boots, my fancy new Cinch Jeans, an actual dress shirt(not western), a black coat with thin light gray pinstripes, and a grey Stetson to top it off.

Good Morning Lodge.

We'll see about that.

Expecting a nasty call from one of our soon-to-be ex-clients. That is going to be......joyful. Long story. Yeah. We can't get rid of this one quick enough for my taste. And I can't hit them with a shovel, because they're related to another client that we do want.

Brent: Can you work at where I work? My shipping department is making me furious. They missed a shipment of blank items that were to be delivered today. The customer is yelling at me and I am the messenger.

Fun day at work for me!
