Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

Interesting about GB... I'd just think of flying to GB just so I don't have to worry about a car... would have to see how much easier/cheaper it is.

Right now, I figure that Lowell is the same spot... Bridgeport and Green Bay are the most likely (UMN eating up that #2 seed in St. Paul and BC being #1 in worcester)... I got somebody who gave a vote of confidence to Green Bay's downtown nightlife. We'll see.

Downtown Green Bay is pretty fun but the Resch Center isn't walking distance to the downtown bars. But there are pretty good bars around the Resch Center/Lambeau Field such as Anduzzi's, Stadium View and The Bar

In a GB scenario I'd get a hotel near the arena and hope that there are cabs to take care of the rest. I'll lean towards whatever the lowell fans do... if I can hook up with a few others my own age (24-35) and head downtown I want to... but otherwise I'll stick with the crowd.

It shouldn't be a problem getting a cab from around the Stadium View area to downtown, I've done it before without much problem. But I would think that the best place to be would be at the bars around the arena that weekend, I'm guessing that's where most people will be.

well, as always, play it by ear... for all i know I'll end up in Bridgeport which is probably the least bar friendly venue of the group.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

Quite the exciting game this evening. Denver pulled out a 3-1 win with an empty netter in the 60th minute of play. Goals by Nate Dewhurst, Luke Salazar and an empty netter by Nick Shore. Solid goaltending by both Sam Brittain and Joel Rumpel. I expect those two to be the starters for tomorrow's game as well. The Denver-Wisconsin game will be the only WCHA contest tomorrow so I'm guessing conference fans will be tuning into the game. Denver has been able to generate lots of shots through two games, but Rumpel has been outstanding in net and couldn't be faulted on either goal he allowed tonight. Based solely on what I've seen of Rumpel the past two nights he looks as though Wisconsin may have found a #1 goalie for the next few seasons as he's just a freshman. Very impresive both games.

After missing a majority of the season due to a knee injury suffered last spring, Sam Brittain is close to showing the form which made him the freshman of thde year in the WCHA last season. Denver will try to win its first playoff series ever against the Badgers tomorrow night. Looking forward to the contest. Nite all.

Still at the * hockey table. Someone needs to fix the jukebox here, all it's doing is playing This song on repeat.
