Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

Morning!

Bought a pair of tickets to the Twins Home Opener, 4/9 vs the Angels. Yay! :)

Anyone want to go? It's a Monday, 3 pm start. Pretty sure Pujols will hit 3 HR off our soft pitch staff.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

this room have 4-5 beds?!? :p

No, but there is plenty of floor space. I don't think you understand what we're looking for when we want a hotel room room like this. It doesn't need to be comfortable or very nice. We just need somewhere to pass out where we won't get cold, rained on or thrown into the drunk tank. We packed 5 people, well, 4 since Brent got the ****s before we left, into a $39/night Motel 6 in St. Cloud once year. So yeah, $200 a night is really **** expensive, when all we're going to do is pass out in there, and we don't really care if we pass out on the floor.

Howdy Lodge. Tuesday. Rainy. Blah. Lots to do today. We had a department meeting at 9:00am. It was to give us an overview of 2011 numbers in advance of getting our bonus checks this week. Which will be quite lower than previous years due to unprecedented catastrophes. I refuse to be upset about it as some people are because in these unprecedented catastrophes, people lost homes, businesses, schools, and in some cases, lives. I lost none of that stuff and still have a job and a home, etc. Some people can be idiots.

Morning everyone. 10 hour day on two hours of sleep weeeeeeeee.

I've been dealing with sleep issues myself... Getting rather late again. Going to look at unisom or something... Also, keeping this apartment Down to a reasonable sleep temp. Already have to start using the AC... Windows aren't much help when it's 66 degrees at night and circulation is iffy.

A nice card with a heartfelt letter would be beautiful. You can give stuff but something like that is a keepsake that gives the warm fuzzies for a long time.

Completely off the top of my head? A gift card somewhere that you know she likes. And make her dinner.

I agree that flowers and candy are inappropriate here.
I think I'll use both of these ideas. A nice card, some homemade dinner, and a gift card should hit the spot. :)

Good morning, Lodge.

Just a long night with the fiance and dog. Not an everyday thing thankfully but getting up at 5 isn't really working for me today.

Fog fog fog. Hanging out around Galveston waiting for this to lift so we can actually see where we're going. Maybe sometime today, maybe tomorrow, who knows. 2 weeks until home, don't know if I'll remember what it looks like, been gone since the super bowl.

Hey matty, I know you haven't been hanging around here much lately, but just a refresher...its comments like this that get taken out of context in the lodge. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

I was just asked if I could fly to Indiana for Wednesday-Friday this week. Darn, I had to say no.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

Why not? It's not like anything important is going on. ;)
Eh, not worth it for only 2 segments and ~1000 miles. If tech wasn't there, I would have considered going, since the trip is for a fairly important project and they need someone down there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

So I go to get tickets for the Johnny Holm band this Saturday at TK's, and lo and behold, our bartender was working. We chatted a little, and mentioned to each other how odd it was to see each other during the day instead of a weekend night. I mean, what's an A-squad bartender doing working the day shift?

Because the bar needs someone to work during the day and I'm sure that it just rotates between the staff.
