Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

Getting out of there before it got crazy would mean leaving St Paul at approximately 8:07 am, 7 minutes after the bars are allowed to serve booze. ;)
I wouldn't be too worried about the tailgate. I'm guessing it will just be the regular group there, and it won't be any different than normal. If we tried to go to bars at any time during that, then yes, it would be a mess.

Meh, Thu and Fri will be enough for me. I already passed on Sat tickets anyway.

This part was even more interesting. Especially that last sentence. Apparently married men have more freedoms.

Besides fornication, adultery is currently illegal in Minnesota. It is defined as "When a married woman has sexual intercourse with a man other than her husband." The current version of the law allows up to year of imprisonment and/or $3,000 in fines. It can only be prosecuted if the husband or wife file a complaint, with exemptions for incidents over one year or involving insane women. Only the man involved can use not knowing the woman's marital status as a defense.

I was just coming here to post that very sentence. What an *** backwards state you live in. The "involving insane women" part, though, cracked me up.

Careful with the stone throwing lady. I am pretty sure every state, including yours, has some crazy laws still on the books. :)

A quick google search, so dunno how true these are:

For Massachusetts:
A woman can not be on top in sexual activities.
Alcoholic drink specials are illegal.

For Boston:
It is illegal to take more than 2 baths a month within Boston confines.

For Salem:
Sleeping in the nude in a rented room is forbidden, even for married couples.

Thus proving yet again - some people in Massachusetts suck at life. (But we already knew that from the new BU/BC thread :p)

Morning, Lodge.

In New York State, it is illegal to carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket on a Sunday.

Yeah, there are some crazy laws out there. Though, now I can tell girls at the bar that I'm an outlaw!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

A submitted my taxes and am actually getting refunds from both Federal and DC taxes. (I wasn't too sure what would happen since I retired, but I got a lot of money at the beginning of the year due to getting paid for about 11 weeks of unused vacation time. Taht and a lot of other thigns changed.)

In any case it was a big PitA.

From what I understand, a lot of those crazy laws are the result of someone actually doing that back in the day, so they passed a law to stop them and just haven't bothered to take it off the books. Apparently someone actually carried an ice cream cone in their back pocket on a Sunday and and ruined a church pew or something.

First time I took girl to SC I told her we could get arrested for sleeping together since we were mixed races.

I just walked across the street for a candy bar. Why is that remarkable, you ask? Well, I went outside, instead of through the skyway, in my shirtsleeves, and it was nice... Somewhere north of 50 degrees right now outside in Mpls.

Good afternoon Lodge.

First day back at work. Cripes I am swamped. My inbox had over 500 emails in it.
