Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Now that is what an incident report is for. That guy should be set for life financially (says the person who rarely thinks anyone should sue the medical pros)
Yeah, pretty sure its going to be a big teaching moment there.
I was gonna guess O2 bottle that some moran brought into the MR room. I've seen those reports before. One young kid got killed by the O2 bottle.
yeah, I could imagine just how much damage that all could have done to somebody. Amazingly enough though, the guy said he finished off the rest of his shift there at the hospital, just kind of limping around. I'm pretty sure I would have gone home and been a huge baby about it.

Awesome fine motor, dexterity and increased grip/strength! Lil has 2 tubs that are huge and masses of the instructions. My friend gave them to him. I still remember Mr les almost ripping what little hair he had on his head out trying to find all the little bits and pieces :D

I'm sure. While searching through 1000's of legos to find the one tiny piece is part of the charm, I have this multi-drawer cabinet that my parents got me from a hardware store one year for Christmas that I could sort the pieces into. Sorting the pieces was a pain, but to be able to just open a drawer and grab the piece I needed made building so much easier.

Nice.

That's something I thought about today. What in the heck do I do with all these pieces from different sets? Group them all together in one container? Keep them separated? How about the directions? Almost need to laminate and or put them in a three ring binder?

Honestly, The pieces will get mixed together regardless of what you do. As for storage, my advice is get one of those long, but shallow underbed storage tubs to keep them in, it gives enough surface area to play in them without having to pour the bucket out. Even then, I would put a sheet down on the floor to try and keep the pieces contained because stepping on an unexpected lego brick is not a pleasant experience.

Many people will three-hole punch the directions or keep them in the plastic pages, while other will just keep them in a box, mine are in a file folder (that because most directions have been trashed to pieces and that's the only way to keep them in any semblance of order). Nearly all lego sets that are over 3 years old have their directions posted on-line at Peeron (where they also have set inventories which can be kind of handy).

Wait until you step on one of the teeny-tiny Legos (while barefoot) and then let me know what you think of them. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

I had a random assortment of Legos when I was a kid (still have a bin full of them too.) Even though I had the wide/long bin that would (in theory) let me build inside the box, I always just dumped my Legos on the floor and went to work... then left them once I was finished. My parents hated me. :D

Evening, Lodge. I either drank too much last night, or haven't drank enough for the last several months. :o TK's does that to people, haha.

Doesn't help that you were hanging out with the Real Life Hangover Crew. Or that the drinks were mammoth-sized and strong. ;)

Still wish we took a pic of that random that wanted to wear my jersey and take a pic with me.

Aaaaaaaaaaand someone is likely going bye-bye in the BU thread. I didn't read back at all to figure out the particulars, but the Mods have it closed for editing.

Yeah, that caught my attention as well here. Getting to be that time of year where they're going to be patrolling pretty often.

Which is why the other method of storing legos is to use and old flat sheet (full or larger) and put that on the floor and then dump the legos into the middle of that, the kids can go to town and the parents can just gather up the corners of the sheet to pick up the majority of the legos (depending on how messy the kids have been).

She should have paid up on the bet! And yes, we should have.

Good idea. Wish either I or my parents had thought of that. :p

Also, remind me never to look through the BU thread again, because I have no *ing idea what was going on there.
