Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 143: A Golden ;) Oldie

Though it goes without saying, cancer can eat a bag of dicks.

1 - My friend's MIL has incurable lung cancer. This is a recurrence of a previous bout with cancer. Treatment may prolong her life for some years but, she's terminal.

2 - My brother has a tumor on his brain stem. I don't know much more than that but, it sucks. He'll be 41 in a couple of weeks.

3 - My dear friend, who was one of the officiants at our wedding, decided to stop treatment yesterday for her mpnst and go into hospice care. She's 35.

Wonder why I'm finding it hard to concentrate at work this morning...

Holy crap. :( :massive hug:
Are your employers the type that would let you take a personal day? Because, ****, I think you need to.

I'm with 'diva on this one, is there a way that you can take a personal day or two? This sounds like it is too much for one person to bear and you could use the time to do whatever you need to (see them, take time for yourself, etc.) to keep yourself sane.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 143: A Golden ;) Oldie

I concur with 'ewe and 'diva. Jeez, that really sucks. Cancer can DIAF. And the sooner the better. :mad:You know the Lodge is a place where you can vent, so please do so if you need to.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 143: A Golden ;) Oldie

Ah, my hometown. How lovely to see it in the news these days. :)

I got to see mine in the news due to an FBI screw up (crashed the wrong apartment).... of course once I figured out what building it was I don't blame them. I'm not sure I would walk around there without armed guards and a bullet proof vest. I really doubt the apartments were clearly labelled.

There were 3 cabbies killed in that area in 18 months in the late 90s

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 143: A Golden ;) Oldie

Thanks guys.

Oddly, I'm better off at work. My job is fairly mind numbing so it keeps me occupied and distracted, for the most part.

It was kind of like when my dad passed; I was at work the next day. I took the rest of the week off after that but, I needed the distraction.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 143: A Golden ;) Oldie

Yeesh, sorry to hear about all that mel. *cancer for sure.

Lounging around today, probably going skiing with a couple friends at a local hill so I can atleast get 1 day in this season. Groundhog may have seen his shadow, but, uhhhh.... winter hasn't even started, so how can there be 6 MORE weeks?!?!

I'm betting on March 21st being the end of Winter.

Which btw is about 6.5 weeks from now. Crazy.

I am an engineering student wise guy!

Plus I'm taking 17 credits, coaching a hockey team, etc. ;)

You're freshman - just the weed-out classes now, right? Calc, physics, freshman comp, etc. And it's just a squirt B team isn't it? ;)

What major, or undecided?

I have had a Kato ME grad working for me before. He's not bad, course I helped train him when he was a designer/drafter before he went back to school for the BS degree.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 143: A Golden ;) Oldie

Speaking of weed-out classes - last night we were informed that only about 66% of students (or less/[fewer?]) actually pass this class and move on. I'm struggling, but at least I'm not alone. :o
