Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

Got lots of nice things- a new LL Bean long coat from Mr. A gift card to my favorite garden place from lil. My favorite thing was the giving. Lil liked everything he got which was awesome as he never knows what he wants and isn't a thing kid. The best thing I got him was a sheepskin pillow :)

Nice time with everyone- all 3 family meals we did. Went to church 3 times- Catholic Mass 2ce (goldy- is only the Spirit supposed to have peace? what about the rest of the person- does astheticism live?!!) The second Mass I was ready for all the changes, but near disgraced myself trying not to giggle the whole time (I know, I should be a grown up). They held up 'the card' and waved it around everytime they had changed the words. The old people just belted out the old words loudly. I had a horrible case of the giggles after first imagining the old cartoons and the bouncing pingpong ball over the words and then having Lil say they forgot 'Lil's name' even tho he has a book in the Bible (insert further rants) when they now list the 50 obscure Saints, sort of saints and who ever else is in the list. This right before my Fa-in-Law rolls his eyes at me when they hit the consubstantiation word (he had made a comment before Mass about changing to consubstantiation being stupid). I would probably have felt a little more guilty about my irreverence but the kids behind us were playing games on their phone the whole time, kids were screaming and people were talking thru the whole thing. It was like being in a busy cafeteria.

The 3rd Church service was 'real' (lil) Lutheran service. THis is a very small place that I have been going to since I was a kid. I think after the 1st 2 services that I am ready for some comforting, traditional stuff. Nope. There is an influx of Chinese families into the family. The Church sponsors the ESL classes in the neighborhood. Lessons/Gospel were in English and then Chinese. I now have great respect for anyone who can learn that language! It was very cool but not traditional. I think I am an old fuddy duddy officially.
You're still better than me anyways. Tremaine dragged me out to her church on Christmas. We went there Christmas Eve to help with feeding the homeless there that night, and did so again after the Christmas service there. The highlight of that was at the end when they aired a clip of the pastor with his family holding a grandbaby, and right at the end of the clip, kid about blows up like it was on que. Other than that, a lot of yelling about the fools out going crazy for a pair of Jordans and the whole spirit of Christmas. Oh and the Choir as well.

Had a pretty impressive day today at Balance. Yesterday night when I looked, I didn't have anything on the schedule as did a few of the other therapist as well. At the end of today, they had booked 18 same day appointments, and filled me up for my shift with 4 one hour sessions. And they all turned out to be pretty good tippers as well. Looking like a lot of people got BMT gift cards for Christmas. Either way, clearly goes into my book as a Festivus Miracle!!

It will only get worse. Wait until you start humming that Beatles' song that has been running around in my head for the last two months. :D

S'upp y'all

-if I feel in love with you
Would you promise to be true
And help me
Understand

Cause ive been in love before
And I found that love was more
Than just, holding hands

(I's loves the Beatles!)

Would you promise to be true

Understand

Cause ive been in love before
And I found that love was more

(I's loves the Beatles!)
Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to
Strawberry fields
Where nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about

Good morning, Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

Good morning Lodge. Had an appointment this morning to get my permanent crown and then this long national nightmare of my root canal would be over. Got a call at 7:50am from the dentist's office that my dentist is sick and won't be coming in, can I call to re-schedule. I did, and they're like "How's Thursday at 2:15?" I made plans with my family to hang out in the North End Thursday afternoon. It's my brother's last day here before he heads home to LA and my cousin is also leaving Friday. Now I have to ruin those plans. Not too thrilled about that. In fact, majorly annoyed.

I am heading out this afternoon to go see Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, then out to dinner.

Watched Young Adult last night. Not bad. You Minnesotans would probably like it. It takes place there.

Morning.

Fully recovered from my trip to SF now. My niece and nephew are still adorable. Get to see a good friend who's in town for the week, tomorrow.

Got the first 3 seasons of the Muppet Show on DVD for Christmas, so I am happy.

Don't be annoyed... just make the appointment for next week so you can hang with the family like you planned (unless thare are other factors that you haven't disclosed).

I've already taken enough vacation time for this root canal. I had already planned to take this week off and wanted to get it done while I was off work. I'd rather not have to start the new year off at work by taking more time off for something that was started in October. I can. I just don't want to.

Morning Lodge!

Boss is on a 3-week cruise of South America, so I'm filling in for him. It's been...eventful.

Christmas weekend was low-key. Had breakfast with fellow geographic orphans. Tried to go shooting, but couldn't get into the range, so went snowshoeing instead.

Assuming all goes well, picking up Getaway tonight! Geeked.

I don't get that. Was that based on how they assume BU will do the rest of the season based on Trivino and Coyle gone? Because if the season ended today and the tournament picks were announced, they'd be in, wouldn't they?

Today they are the top #2 seed. They are "projected" to be the fifth bubble team after playing out the season-so yes, assumptions are being made

Afternoon, Lodge. Hung out with the family and then Brent and bbdl yesterday, saw "Dragon Tattoo", and now I have about half a ton of laundry and a few job apps to do.

Did Brent and bbdl or watching the movie cause you to soil your clothes? :D
