S'upp y'all

I love getting my boots shined! :D

FlagDUDE's Internet rule #2: I will never join twitter.

Once Facebook goes exclusive to timeline, I may just dump facebook and go to Google Plus. I find the timeline to be an incredibly awful interface. I realize they'd like to make room for more statuses, but what's so bad about just using rows and collapsing the statuses to a workable size?

I hate the butterfly style wall. I tried to post a status update and accidentally voted for Al Gore.

I really only use Facebook as like a super-Twitter where I'm not limited to 140 characters and can post more stuff. I have more of my friends on Facebook than I did Twitter. I also use it for event invites and picture storage. That's about it. I don't need to go back and play This Is Your Life with myself, or grovel for pieces of wood so I can build a sewage treatment plant on FarmVille.

Whew. I just got us signed up for another youth hockey tourney. Got the offer yesterday to play in a 3 game min, possible 5 game tourney for a very cheap price (say $30/family). I had to reschedule a league game though to clear our calendar for it. Got the other team to agree, now have to finish the paperwork and all the checks and we'll be playing 4 tourneys in 5 weeks! Brooklyn park this weekend, Eden Prairie next weekend, two weeks later at Wayzata and the week after that our own.

Well great, that explains why my ice time Saturday night is only an hour. And it tells me that parking will be atrocious at that horribly designed parking lot. It might even be worse than when they have the gun shows.

This Saturday in Brooklyn Park? Lucky you got any ice at all with a tourney going on. Old guy hockey is first to take a hit.

Don't I know it. We couldn't even get our hour until 10:30PM, and that's probably only because we have a sweet in with someone on the facilities management team.

Was I supposed to be suddenly responsible when I turned 20? Didn't happen.

However, I finally got the ball rolling for my reinstatement to Tech.
I also get to find out on Thursday if I need my sinuses scraped AND I get to get my wisdom teeth out sometime before spring. Oh hooray.

I had 2 3 hour meetings with my supervisor and coworker to hash out workplans for this next year. We are going from having 2 of us doing this work to having 4, starting next week, after 2 college new hires get started. We were able to assign the boring (also the easiest for a new-hire to get acclimated to) stuff to the new guys, and pretty much pick and choose everything we'll be working on this next year. It looks like I will be leading the onsite testing for our project in Sweden and for our project in the Domincan Republic. :D

I'm going to the worst state ever for a hockey game Sunday. How likely is it that I will be beaten up if I'm wearing a Michigan jersey and a Baltiore Ravens hat while in Cleveland?

I saw a girl at my gym wearing an Alaska Anchorage Seawolves shirt last week.
I would say its a little more likely you'll get stabbed than beat up or shot, that's about it.

Yeah, I really can't see myself using facebook that much once they force the new switch on me. The last layout was fine, stop screwing with it. People don't always need to follow 5,000 people anyways.

That could work out very nicely for you. Meet some girl in Sweden and invite her to go with you to the DR. :D I bet your grandmother would love it to see you all shacked up with a nice Swedish Girl. :D

Second day in the bakery, and I've already made my first baguette. Time flies much quicker in the bakery, and I've noticed it's more gracious and civil than in the kitchen.

So much this. So much. It's an email on steroids.

Sounds like you've just about confirmed your calling. :)

:)

We also made oatmeal-cranberry cookies, and they are so much better than oatmeal raisin. It also helps when my instructor tells me to make them weigh 3.5 oz each.

Ace Rothstein: From now on, I want you to put an equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.
Ace Rothstein: ...An equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.
Baker: Do you know how long that's going to take?
Ace Rothstein: I don't care how long it takes. Put an equal amount in each muffin.

I think Sweden is the country that has a bunch of places whose names mean "butt hole" or "big arse" or something similar in their native tongue. Between that and the hotness of their women, I approve of that country.
