Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

I've only been awake for a little over an hour, and I'm ready to put my fist through a wall. Any wall, but preferably one that wouldn't require the loss of our security deposit.

You and me both, sister.

And what mookie said.

Back on the grid!

And this was my first day of class. Already got the list of what I'm making tomorrow: French baguettes, muffins, swirl rye bread, peanut butter cookies, and oatmeal cranberry cookies.

Morning.

If people are so dissatisfied with Facebook, why do they keep using it? I never hear anyone say "this is great".

Oh also, its January 10th and it will be 53 F here today.

If more of my friends were on twitter, I'd have pulled the plug on my facebook. Alas, here I am, still creeping on facebook... er, staying informed ;)

Fog finally lifted this am, so we're northbound just above Natchez now. You Minnesotans need to get some snow or rain, this river is falling at almost 3 feet a day up near Memphis. Not a ton, but enough to slow the fall down, Memphis shouldn't be having an outgoing tide, heh.

I love the new Facebook. The timeline is great.

I should go golfing after work, if I can get away from here at a decent time. :)

Morning Lodge

You Minnesotans need to get some snow or rain, this river is falling at almost 3 feet a day up near Memphis.

Tell me about it. I went out to flood the rink on our pond. First I walk over about 15' of frozen mud that used to be pond to get to the ice, then we try to drill a hole so we can drop in the pump, we hit mud. Tired a couple more spots, same deal. We have about 5-8" of ice over mud, no water left. Our pond is literally down more than 2' from normal.

Instead of watching a crappy FB game or Blazing Saddles, I took the kid to a team video session/chalk talk (was supposed to be outdoor practice but rinks are closed). Then I watched a crappy bantam hockey game but then went in and watched a bit of the #1 ranked squirt A team taking another squirt A team apart. I recognize many of the names on this Edina A team and they are verrrrrryyy good. So dam fast it's scary. There's a Chorske, a Nevers (dad Tommy was recruited by Gophers but signed a pro baseball deal instead) a kid whose older brother is one of the top scoring 9th graders in the state on the local varsity team, etc. It is amazing to see how good and polished these little bitty kids are out there. I mean one of my kid's buddies played squirt A 3 years ago, but they were never this good.

Sweet. They finally announced the Minneapolis tour date for the Blood, Sweat and Beers tour...now to just buy some tickets when they go on sale.

FlagDUDE's Internet rule #2: I will never join twitter.

Once Facebook goes exclusive to timeline, I may just dump facebook and go to Google Plus. I find the timeline to be an incredibly awful interface. I realize they'd like to make room for more statuses, but what's so bad about just using rows and collapsing the statuses to a workable size?
