Just wanna echo what the others have said, gmann. Mrsg and yourself are 2 admirable parents in a world where far too many parents aren't willing to go the extra mile for their kids. The lilg's are extremely lucky to have the parents that they have in their life. Wishing for nothing but the best for the outcome, whatever that may be.

You signed up for the Pond Hockey Tourney this year? How's that looking for you this year? :p
Yeah, I'm signed up. They moved the freaking sign date into September this year, a solid four weeks earlier than in years past.

Fear the Gopher, from GPL, put up some photos of his backyard rink on Facebook. It may as well have some ducks swimming across the top of it. I don't think Lake Nokomis will be any better.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

Naw. I MIGHT be up for a TK's, but so far this work week is kicking my arse.
I'm leaning towards not going out drinking this weekend. I need to save some money after how much I spent last weekend.

Morning Lodge.

HTC Rezoud...got home from work and it had already activated itself.

It's going to take some getting used to (especially the keyboard), but I like it so far.

Wait till it starts calling girls on it's own - and getting shot down. :p

Good afternoon, Lodge! Checking in from the library as my internet won't be restored until Monday.

And good news: I made it into the baking program! I register tomorrow!

No nocturnal ones awake last night. How weird.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! wobbly wednesday.
Baking Swedish coffee ring for the big family brunch this weekend. Then making the batter for the pancakes (like crepes) and getting stuff as ready as I can before the day. After brunch Christmas will finally be over. woooof.
Mmm..... sounds a lot like my mom's swedish tea ring. its rolled out, has cinnamon, raisins, and/or other dried fruits in it, rolled it up and fashioned into a ring right??

Good evening Lodge.

Quick update on little g for those of you interested.

Mrs. g and I have noticed lately that his gait has been more labored and he has been experiencing some balance issues. Zachary was seen by a specilaist earlier in the week. His legs have gotten tighter (calf and hamstring). It has been recommended that he receive 5 Botox injections per muscle group (20 total) to try and deal with the spastic or tightness in his muscles. We will be getting a second and third opinion. It's not the end of the world but IMHO it is a setback. f an a. :(
It may not hurt to try looking into other therapies for him as well. Some serious NMT or Rolfing might help him out without needing to get injected. The stuff can hurt like hell, and you might have to find yourself undergoing a session or two show him that its alright to yelp a little but Daddy can take it. Biggest trick would be finding an Massage Therapist who really knows their stuff to get to that black magic. The one thing I would say is that you would want to do try the massage before the botox injections as massage after botox is a big risk to spread the botox to other muscles that it wasn't planned on it being injected into. I believe the recommend wait for after botox is a week after injection. The big thing here would be to find something that works for little G.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

Been super busy at work this week. Been fully booked all week. Monday three 1 hours and a 90 minute. Later that night they realized that Burt was still down in Florida and wasn't going to be able to come in tuesday for his shift, so they emailed me late and asked me to cover that, which ended up being a 90 minute hot stone and three 1 hour sessions. We've had some therapist change their shifts around because of other classes they're taking, so we're down a therapist on wednesday afternoons, and I signed up to cover that for the next two weeks until hopefully somebody else wants to cover it or they hire another therapist to cover it. As busy as we have been, its about to that point where another one is needed. Anyways, even with an hour break for lunch, I still ended up doing six one hours with one 90 minute session as well. My friday shift is already all booked up with four 1 hours, and I'm betting my Saturday afternoon isn't going to last much longer before its all booked as well. The worst part is that a lot of these clients have been college girls who got gift cards to come in. They're lousy tippers. Oh well, still beats shoveling Shibby!!! :D

Also this week AnnArbor.com has been running the Best of Ann Arbor contest for the best place in Washtenaw County to get a therapeutic massage at. Right now the place where I work at, Balance Massage Therapy, is holding a slim 3 vote lead over the second place massage place. Since how everybody here in the Lodge loves a good poll, I was hoping I could get a few of you guys to vote for Balance to help us keep that lead. The voting ends Saturday, and you can vote thru Facebook if you want to.

The best place for a Therapeutic Massage.

A good 8 extra votes or so from everybody here should give Balance all of the votes Balance needs to win. Thanks everybody!!!

gmann - I had the same thought as Monster as far as massage therapy goes rather than Botox. While I don't have enough medical training to have an informed opinion, I'd be concerned about botox injections for someone so young. I do have several patients that go to OT/PT places for massages on their leg muscles (bed confined patients that don't utilize those muscles and the only movement they get is passive ROM exercises). Might be worth checking out local hospitals to see what they offer as well as any local massage places. I'll ask my mom about what she thinks (she's an Early Intervention speech therapist that works with a bunch of places and may have some suggestions).

Checking into the Lodge. Christmas was crazy, New Year's was pleasant. Been a bit of a bump on a log during Christmas break; I feel bad, but at the same time, it's school straight through the end of 2012, starting on the 17th of January.

I tried mango habanero wings today. Not very impressed. Yeah, they have some heat, but the flavor just wasn't there. I think I'll stick to my old reliable asian zing from now on.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

Good afternoon Lodge.

It has been a shiatty 24 hours. First, the news about little g. Second, having septic tank issues. Could be the pump or a frozen system or something else. Third, I have a nasty head cold. Good thing that I am an optimist in that at least I am not a Gopher hockey fan. :)
