Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

There's no reason for that line of conversation to continue. :p

Afternoon, Lodge. Finished my Chrsumas shooping early this morning with a trip to Best Buy and another to the post office - luckily today was an easy day at work. A coworker's aunt even brought Nanaimo bars. :D

As for my holiday plans, I guess my family isn't going to church tonight aftr all. We usually attend on Christmas eve, at least as much for it being a tradition as for the message at the sermon. This year though, my sister's twin boys are more the center of attention, and the average 2 year old won't sit through an hour-long church service anyway. So instead, we're having fried rice and Chinese-style chicken wings, and I'm introducing the twins to my girlfriend's pet hedgehog. :)

Evening all,

got drunker than I've been in months last night and saw a bunch of people I graduated from HS with, was a really good night. Going to be an... interesting Christmas with the parents split up, but it isn't bothering me too much really. Hope all of you have a merry christmas and get to spend it with loved ones.

This one is a new one by me... we're going to "midnight" mass this year... not exactly thrilled to be trudging out at 10PM (9:20PM, really)... i think its because my father sings in the choir... at least we get a smooth full Sunday together before I go back to DC.

Honestly though... as abbreviated as it is, it is good to be home... I bought chinese for everybody last night... was good... got some nice options. Its been a rough year though... I'm hoping for better in the next one... I know I need it.

Evening Lodge!

Pancakes and bacon for dinner. Not only that, a friend sent me an "I Love Bacon" cookbook... it's been a very good day!

A few years ago, 5-6 or so, a couple friends and I headed to downtown Mpls on Christmas Eve on a bet: if they could find a naughty bar that was open, I'd pay their way in (personally not a fan of those types of bars; rather would spend money on real women).

Not a one was open. In fact, the only place we found open was a bar having some sort of Jewish night, with Jewish rappers (they were even sporting gold/diamond Star Of David chains!); one buddy ended up passing out in a chair, and my other buddy and I were dancing with these two random guys' wives, at the guys' request. It was an odd night.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Today has been a great day and tomorrow I am hoping for back to back great days.

It's so fun hanging with the boys. Watching them open their gifts this evening was priceless. I wish they could stay ages 5 and 3 for a few more years. FWIW little g did not get one piece of clothing tonight.

I am now hanging out drinking a beverage (Midleton Whiskey, a very nice Xmas gift I received) on the rocks and watching A Christmas Story.

Earlier I looked in the humidor and picked out a cigar and I am ready to go out to the garage and fire up a Cohiba. It has been a very long time since I have had a cigar.

Sir, that sounds like a very merry Christmas. :) Good tidings to you and yours. :)

Thanks. Merry Christmas to you.

I am not much of a liquorologist but this Midleton is pretty darn good.

I'm curious as to what my brother has in store for the males in our family tomorrow. Newer tradition that started about 4-5 years ago, when the men each had a shot-n-cube of some sort of whiskey after Christmas dinner. I can't say I've had Midleton, though.

Midleton Very Rare.

I am curious about heading up to my family tomorrow (moms side). My mom is one of 15 kids. Not everyone will be attending but all in there will be at least 40 of us ( give or take 15 people). It's absolute craziness. I have been a no show for a while and This will be the first time mrs. g. She has no idea what to expect. It will be a blast.

Trying to sleep here in the guest room at the girlfriends house. The bed is comically small for me. Really debating to moving back out to the couch as it's long enough to stretch out on.
