Why don't you come to the FOH holiday skate today and find out?
Good morning Lodge.
This morning at breakfast little g mentions to his grandma and grandpa "next time for Xmas just get me a lump of coal instead of pants and pajamas."

you said he's 3 right? Sounds like he's going to be one sharp m-fer
Wow.
If I may, I'm not sure it is healthy for you to subject them to this kinda **** (with the limited background-even if they could understand). I don't think kids should wonder why their grandparents play favorites - or treat them in a manner showing less love and affection. I wouldn't go. Wouldn't take them and have it thrust in their face like this.
I'm uncomfortable hearing them voice displeasure so openly. I would want my kinds to have love and respect for grandparents- not this.
(just my intrusive 2 cents. Feel free to ignore)
I agree. This is the first time that the inlaws have done something like this. Now is not the time to deal with it.
I apologize for posting this stuff and bringing it into the Lodge.

Don't apologize! For good or bad this serves as a sounding ******board for most of us-- get perspective.
Besides, I think this shiat is humorous and entertaining. It is a sad commentary but living it is like watching a train wreck. You know what is going to happen and you don't want to look but you just can't turn your head and i am here to share with all of you. You just can't make this crap up.
That's a good job outta him! This morning at breakfast little g mentions to his grandma and grandpa "next time for Xmas just get me a lump of coal instead of pants and pajamas."
He's 5.
Mrs. g and I do not discuss the inlaw situation in front of our kids but it is funny on what they pick up on. Last night bil and his 9 year old daughter (my niece) received a boat load of gifts including toys. (Mrs. g and I barely got anything. Not that we care but the implied message was sent loud and clear). Then the inlaws mentioned that when bil and niece show up next week on Xmas that Santa will have more gifts for them. Anyways little g also asked grandpa and grandma why bil and niece got so much and his family didn't. Inlaws were speechless. The silence was priceless.

Repeat what I said earlier- it is much easier when they are blatantly idiots then when they pull the doodoo of trying to buy your kid with stuff.Good morning Lodge.
