Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

My stance on HS reunions can be summed up as follows: what exactly is the point of hanging out with people you either didn't know or didn't like? That strikes me as a colossal waste of time.

Yep. If I didn't hang out with you in HS or keep in touch with you, that means I didn't give a crap about you. Why would I want to see you again?

Happy Turkey Eve. May all the birds be quivering in fear, and may all of you indulge in alcohol tonight, or chocolate milk for Les.

Morning tLodge. Our little Gummy Bear is still getting over a cold but on a good note she slept for 9 hours last night! (she's only 3 months old so 9 hours straight through, including a sleep feeding, is pretty good I think!)

Man is it a great feeling when they start sleeping through the night regularly. Or even semi-regularly.

And while I was typing, my house lights went out. The windows installer guys have a table saw set up in the front yard, and just tripped the breaker. It happens -- I know -- but I sure hope they finish today, what with MY ENTIRE FAMILY COMING OVER FOR THANKSGIVING DINNER TOMORROW!!11! Well, maybe we'll enjoy the nice breeze blowing in through the unfinished holes in our walls . . .

Howdy Lodge! Here at the office today. It's pretty quiet, lots of people out. We already got the message that we can leave at 2:30. Yay! though I may come back in to meet my friend or a pre-Thanksgiving beverage. The weather here is gross today but should taper off later int he afternoon. Hope she can make it. I could use a martini tonight. :)

Morning Lodge.

Had a meeting with a contractor at 8 AM today. The Owner had two people there, we had two people, the prime contractor (our client) had two, and the contractor who called the meeting had two. The one who called the meeting had almost nothing new to add. I would have been embarassed if I were them.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

I'm trying to decide if I should go to my high school reunion on Friday. I did not buy a ticket, in fact I was planning to be in NYC for the BU-Cornell game. I am not leaving now till Saturday morning, but wicked early. I still see friends from high school so why would I pay money to hang out with people that I don't remember all that much and wouldn't know me if they stepped over me in the gutter? Seriously, a lot of these people didn't hang out with me when I was in school, I don't want to hang with them now. But, some of my friends are trying to convince me to go. It is local, which is a plus, so I could leave and get home early. I think it's going to be a game time decision.
You gotta go, especially if it's local! With a group of friends trying to get you there, you'll be glad you did!

Good morning, Lodge! I too expect a short workday, which pleases me.

I will put some in the show yourselves thread by the end of the day. :D

She was sleeping through the night regularly for a week (8.5, 8, 6.5, 8.5, 7.5, 7) and then we went to NY for 4 days, came home for 3, then had some friends staying with us who also had a baby because they lost power due to the freak nor'easter, and she's just getting back to normal now...

Yeah, I hear that happens often. Sitting around in the dark, nothing else to do, might as well...

Nine months later a mini-baby boom. ;)

HAHA. Not quite. Kinda hard to get pregnant and have a baby nine months later when Halloween was only 3+ weeks ago. ;)

They had a 7 month old who was using our daughters crib since that's where the guest bed is so our Gummy Bear was staying in our room in the pack 'n play. That didn't help her internal schedule. Oh yeah, then the clocks changed! She doesn't get what daylight savings means yet!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Waiting until Cyber Monday to do my little bit of shopping.

Hello, Lodgers. Things have been crazy with school and work (doing about 60-70 hours between the two these days). Lots of craziness. My sister is coming up to spend Thanksgiving with tcbg and I. I invited her to help her avoid drama with other parts of our family and show her my support for her as she had recently left her super-abusive fiance about 5 weeks ago. Turns out, she went to Philly last week to run a half-marathon that they were supposed to run together. "He's changed" now and they're back together :( And this week was looking so promising. (I'm actually tearing up at the thought of them getting back together.)
