Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

I wasn't even invited to my ten year reunion. Not that it matters, I wouldn't have gone.

I went to my 40-year HS reunion in NYC in 2004. I happened to be going there the next week for work anyway, and I just lengthened the trip. That's the only reunion that I have ever been at, either HS or college. It was somewhat interesting, but there were very few people whom I remembered -- HS was just a three-year blur. (I was in JHS in the 9th grade.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

I initially paid $25 for my reunion, only to have it cancelled due to lack of interest. Ended up having an "unofficial" reunion at a dive on the beach, and it was actually kind of fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Yaaaa, I'm with the others, I have no intentions on going to any HS reunions. I see those that I care enough to see often enough, usually every time I'm home. And really, the 5 year will probably be a cluster* anyways.

Even any college reunions are a question for me, since I wasn't really close with a large amount of people, and most of those I am friends with either now work for the same company or I would just go visit on mutual time off work. Meh.

My stance on HS reunions can be summed up as follows: what exactly is the point of hanging out with people you either didn't know or didn't like? That strikes me as a colossal waste of time.

i can't believe there is anyone you didn't like!!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

i am going to girl's hs reunion with her on friday. i've never been to any of mine.

Man is it a great feeling when they start sleeping through the night regularly. Or even semi-regularly.

And while I was typing, my house lights went out. The windows installer guys have a table saw set up in the front yard, and just tripped the breaker. It happens -- I know -- but I sure hope they finish today, what with MY ENTIRE FAMILY COMING OVER FOR THANKSGIVING DINNER TOMORROW!!11! Well, maybe we'll enjoy the nice breeze blowing in through the unfinished holes in our walls . . .

how could you not rather be in HK walking around the block!?!??!? :D

I received an invite to my 5-year, but not a peep since. I hung out mostly with people from another high school that I met through work, anyways.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

I went to my 5-year last year. It was OK, but I doubt I will attend my 10-year.

Alrighty, time to see what this Iowa thing is all about (hopefully something other than corn and pigs). Enjoy your Thanksgiving, Lodge.

I forgot that I also went to my 5-year college reunion, however I was still there in grad school at the time, so it doesn't really count.

Didn't go to my 10 year. Heard from my mom that it was mostly people who never left home or left and moved back. And all they did was start at one bar, and then bar-hopped to two more.

They basically acted like It was a typical weekday in college. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

We didn't do a 5-year. For our 10-year we got drunk, played golf, then went to the reunion, and drank some more. Our 20-year is next year, but I haven't heard a word yet.
