Hm. I'd doubt there's that much heavily wooded area, based on what I know of where his town is, and not much high-quality marketable lumber in what is there. What is done with that other part of the property, bbdl?

EDIT: LOL at bbdl's response. Unless the price of aspen suddenly skyrockets.
45 acres tillable, 55 acres hilly woodland. The farmland is the top of a bluff, the woodland goes down the three sides of the bluff.

Confused...unless it's the night after? :p

It's not that (unfortunately).

A couple of years ago I was talking to my grandpa - he was 90 then and is still around - and he said a couple of drinks too late in the evening and he couldn't sleep -- This might seem weird but it gave me this touching sense of pride, that he and I had that in common.

Hmmm....I've read that people who drink "regularly" (not necessarily alcoholics) are actually a bit stimulated by their first drink or two. It contributes to the 'social lubricant' effect.

Maybe it's kind of a hand-in-hand situation. If a social drinker has a drink, it's usually because they are out at a bar having a good time, getting a little rambunctious or whatever, and the mind associates that with the booze. So if you have a drink at home, your mind tells your body "It's gametime! Let's party!"

Then again, "The 2 Beer Sleepies" is the argument against that.

I've never heard of that. But then again, unlike you vagingas, I can hold my liquor.

And I usually start off gigs with a glass of whisk(e)y. It definitely helps wake me up.

And now I just spent all my money at Eddie Bauer! (actually I picked up 2 flannel shirts, normally $50 each, on sale for $29.99, plus a CyberMonday promo of 40% off, I got both shirts for $35.99, plus free shipping)

Then again, "The 2 Beer Sleepies" is the argument against that.

Yeah, and now I'mfeeling a litlte sleep. . . Z z z z z

:D

The second part of your post may help my point. You are about to jam out on stage in front of a ton of people. Think: Pavlov.

And The Two Beer Sleepies happen when you're really tired to begin with (physically) but mentally you don't necessarily realize it. You have two beers, you're not drunk, not even buzzed, but the natural effects of the beer (this never happens with hard liquor for some reason) because it's a depressant take over, and you feel sleepy.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Alcohol is a depressant. Period.

I haven't said otherwise.

Edit: in fact, that's why doctors are freaking out about Redbull/vodkas and the like. Mixing uppers with downers? Yeah, that shouldn't end well.

$500k+ in timber? Are you ****ing high?

What I meant to say was that you could probably cover a couple of years of the loan payments and taxes with quality timber harvest off of it. Or at least make it enough that it would be worth the trouble of selling the timber, provided that you got a lot of old growth good hardwood trees there like oak, maple, walnut perhaps.

One shouldn't watch TV while trying to post about financial advice... :o

I heard that rumor, too. And standing next to me, looking ever so dashing in a gold jersey, was my darling husband. :D

Greetings, Lodge!

I'm back at my mom's after spending a week and a half-ish in Ohio/Michigan.

Good news, everyone! I have a job! Well... Pending a background check. Plus, I've got rec bouncyball scorekeeping.

Now, we just need to find the hubby a job...
Congrats!

With a pole!

At least in my generation the fools that mixed the 2 didn't do it in a way that made them need to pee.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! terrible tuesday.
