Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

G'morning, Loj.

I used to think Scarlet was awesome . . . Then she goes and disses gravy.

Maybe it's an ethnic thing. Isn't Scarlet Greek (ancestor-wise, that is)? I don't think they have gravy there. Some EU Heritage rule or something. Only oregano and lemons allowed on top of food, something like that. :D

Morning Lodge.

I used to think Scarlet was awesome, I mean she marched in the Macy's parade. Then she goes and disses gravy. I mean, I've come to expect that sort of nonsense from Brent and MNS, but not Scarlet.:(

Hey, hey, hey. Don't lump me in with MNS.

Gravy is disgusting. Especially country-fried gravy. *shudder* I don't know why anyone would put that stuff on food.

Yay for no work today. First time in 10 years I haven't worked the day after T-Day. :)

Good morning, Thansgiving is always fun.
My mother-in-law makes the best pumpkin pie I've ever had. Period. I've never tasted another pie even remotely close to how good hers is.

Gravy is the equivalent of liquid bacon. Nuff said ;)

Speak truth mookie does.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

No desire to do much today... too bad I'm at work... so wanted to sleep in.

Bingo.

Howdy Lodge. Lazy Friday, no shopping for me. I had a bad headache and felt like crap yesterday. Almost didn't make it over to my parents' house for dinner. Got their place and went up to my old room and slept for a few hours. Didn't eat anything all day till late afternoon. Still getting over the headache this morning. Hope it goes away before I leave for NYC tomorrow morning.

Reading thru everybody's Black Friday Horror Stories on facebook. Wondering when some stores will just set up a cattle chute so they can control the crowds better. At least save the idiots who camp there for hours for the $9.99 toaster from themselves.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

My mom and sister went out last night to shop. I told them they were out of their *ing minds. Meanwhile, my dad, brother-in-law, and I watched Punkin Chunkin. I'm not sure who made the better move there, but watching pumpkin cannons shoot pumpkins over 4000 feet was kinda neat for a little while, anyway.

Watching high school state championship football, getting tires rotated at 1, then mexican food for lunch. No way in hell am I going anywhere near a store.

Last year was the first and only year that I worked the day after Thanksgiving. Since it was my last year working, I wanted to accumulate as much leave as possible to get paid for when I retired. The place was deserted.

I'll go into stores today if I have to but, not until the crazy hours are over. Once all the dingbats are done and gone, it's just like any other weekend.

Afternoon, Lodge! (eastern bias)
We're working out our afternoon/evening plans. There's talk of seeing "The Muppets" and heading up to East Lansing for some hockey.

Had I known you had the day off, I'd have offered you my extra Wild ticket for this afternoons game.

Anyway, my moral dilemma has cleared itself up; which isn't unexpected at all. Now, where did I put that bottle of 12 year Jamison...

Hey, you didn't check with me! ;)

Which direction did it clear? Hopefully they didn't both dump you simultaneously, hence the whiskey.

That's more or less what I'm thinking - might go to Target just for entertainment's sake today. :o

And I've heard a lot of good things about the Muppets movie.

Because I only had one extra ticket, figured that you'd need a pair for you and goldy junior.

Not at the same time, but the extra ticket isn't independent of the whole situation. Originally it was for Girl A, than Girl B, now I'm going with my mom. Thus, the whiskey.

Gonna get your mom all liquored up before you make the moves, huh? That's a great plan.
