Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Going nowhere near a store today. Spending this evening curled up with Saints Row 3 and laughing at all the schmucks getting pepper sprayed in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Getting my tires rotated tomorrow as well. Thought about getting studs (they were illegal in Michigan and I've always wanted to try them) but it seems like there are a lot of potential problems with installation/removal and I get by fine without them.

Punkin Chunkin was the title of this week's episode of Modern Family but I don't think that's what you guys are talking about - are you?

Punkin Chunkin involves contraptions that launch pumpkins.

Yep. It's in some guy's cornfield in Pennsylvania, I believe.

HHT, sorry Tech fans. Part 2 on tap tomorrow afternoon, however I'll be asleep until the end or close to it.

Punkin chunkin goes on in Delaware. Had a few buddies go up there this year to watch.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

HHT this week although we haven't scored an even strength goal in 7 games.

Good evening Lodge.

Those of you that knocked gravy earlier today.............shame on you. Both of my grandmothers are shaking their canes at you from their graves. In addition, why do you hate America? :)

Inlaw Thanksgiving story part II. The inlaws (including my wife) have never been apart on Christmas day. Never. Since Mrs. g I have been married I have not been with my family on Christmas day. Well, the inlaws started planning out Xmas day stuff and Mrs. g informed them that we will be celebrating Xmas with my family and she mentioned some dates that we could celebrate with them. They took it as a joke. I see some fireworks in my future.................

I'm so far at the * hockey table that I'm in Texas. I think I'll be seeing a lot of the * hockey table this season.

As for my trip to TX:
One of the first things I saw after landing in Texas was a gun range. It seemed appropriate.
Later on the drive to my brother's house I see a billboard with a University of Houston football player with his hand in a "shocker" symbol. I exclaim, "is that a 'shocker' billboard?" because I can't believe it. Then my parents want to know what a shocker is. :o

Anyway, a little research led to the "cougar paw". Dating back to the 50's when some fool allowed their live cougar mascot to get its toe cut off in its cage. The school they were playing mocked them with the 3 toe symbol, and now Houston has adopted it and shows off the shocker with pride.
