Is that 25 plus tax?Feels good to be 25 again.
Why am I awake? I seriously cannot get my hockey career off of my mind. 14 years straight, and it's over. I've struggled with moving on for awhile now, but some nights it just really gets me. I put everything in my life into hockey, and hockey was always the one thing that kept me sane. I would do absolutely anything for another shot at a state tourney. Sorry for *****ing and moaning, but I just had to get that off my chest.

Lil quit for this reason. Sadly the 'good' kids mostly go to private schools and the dregs who give hockey a bad name stay at the public level (not exclusively but the punks are more prevelent).I remember the feeling well. I hung it up after my sophmore year of hs I think (might have been Junior year) because I didn't like the group of kids I was with and didn't enjoy playing as much anymore as a result. I was always a solid house league player, but not quite good enough to crack our travel teams (side note, my age group had some solid players, our high school won the state championship the year after I graduated, and those were a lot of the kids who I was 'competing' with for travel team spaces). I decided to focus my attention on reffing hockey games as a way to stay around the rink and make some decent money too. I remember one December I reffed something like 25 games plus a weekly adult league of former juniors/college players from Canada who came over, so I ended up making close to $600 that month, which for a high school kid was ca$hmoney.
I still think about pulling the gear out once in a while and going to play pickup with my buddies, but haven't done it yet.

I'm pretty lucky to have such awesome coworkers. The other engineer that I work with is very good at, and enjoys the more analytical parts of our jobs, while I would much rather work in the field and be more hands on. We really are a great team and we get along much better than we probably should given how extremely different we are.
We went out for dinner tonight and racked up a pretty nice bill.
Fried cheesy pickles, filet mignon with potatoes and some kind of molten chocolate cake with ice cream and caramel...mmm mmmmmm mmm

OMG OMG OMG Justin Bieber!?Wish I could tell you about news I got in a meeting 20 niutes ago. I'm overly giddy about it. Can't say anything about it as I don't want my Opposite Girl status to kick in and ruin it. I will say this could be one of the biggest and coolest things I would ever hope to be involved with here, if it actually goes from being a pipe dream to a reality. Which it's inching its way towards. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!
