Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

It's too *ing early to be awake. Ugh.

T-minus 30 minutes until my voyage west starts. Oh boy is this great!

Nice morning out. Sitting on my patio, Monster Khaos in hand, awaiting my ride to the airport courtesy of BPH.
Good Goons and Goalies draft last night. Looking forward to this season, knowing I vultured half your draft list!

Afternoon. Second round of energy bars is a hit, and now I'm off to make a round of molasses spice cookies. Might even make a black pepper shortbread while I'm at it!

Yeah, I think Mankato may be toast now. Shame.
I'm afraid of that..rumor has it the we will work into some scheduling agreements with the former WCHA teams, but we'll see how that plays out. I feel like that's just the pres here trying to keep people happy with the lack of commitment to our program.

You guys are playing us in a couple of weeks. It can't all be bad. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Arrived in Denver, and already had a nice bison burger at the Appaloosa with GLM and his lady friend, who is pretty cool. It is gorgeous here.

And I sometimes spell it "grammer" when I use the term "grammer Nazi" to see how many people catch the joke. Also, I agree with all of the previous grammar peeves.

And tonight? Pat's Pub. Mmmmmm cheesesteaks.........

CC to Deevs: our hotel is friggin' nice. Doorman and everything when you walk in. Also, you probably want the shuttle. Cab ride is about $70 (which we took, since it was cheaper for the three of us).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Why on earth do I hear the theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air coming from the football stadium nearby?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

cc to bbdl: Denver Boone has a fb page, i think you should befriend him and then see how long it takes to get de-friended with your comments about DU.

You're in West Philly?
With a license plate that says "Fresh" and a dice in the mirror?

Good evening, Lodge. Energy bars are made, molasses spice cookies are done, and the dough for my cayenne and chocolate cookies is chilling in the fridge. And breakfast is in the crockpot for tomorrow morning. :)

That's better than anything I can conjure up. We'll go with that.

I've made things in the crock pot, but breakfast is not one of them. What exactly is in that crock pot?

I'm making a turkey on Sunday. No reason whatsoever, other than to cook it so that it doesn't get freezer burn.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

For those interested, tSBFitW took the hobo bribe. Still trying to confirm the amount, but apparently it was pretty darn huge.

I'm a bit ashamed, but understanding. The reasoning was that we're flat broke and our stuff is breaking (one of our baritones is over 100 years old) and secondly, if we turn down the offer and ask for more funding later they can play the "well if you're so desperate for more money, why did you turn down our Homecoming offer?" card.

I suspect it was doomed to happen anyway. MeanE said that it was probably either we take the money and drop the hobo, or refuse the money and they find some OTHER way to make us drop the hobo.

Furious with my alma mater for doing it this way, however. They've just kissed this employed alumni's future donations goodbye.

OK, thanks for the heads up on that.

Crockpot oatmeal. Steel-cut oats with chopped apples, dates, walnuts, and cinnamon. Made enough of it so I don't have to worry about breakfast for a week.

And I got an email from my advisor today: He will be following me closely to make sure I'm working clean and neat the whole quarter. If I'm not, he has no problems sending me home, and you know what? I'm glad. I'd be more worried if he didn't.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Sloe Gin and Quiz did the bait-n-switch with Pat's Pub. We ended up going to Casa Bonita! :D It was all that I dreamt it would be. It's like a Mexican Disneyland/Vegas dinner-and-a-show place. They have cliff-divers inside, jugglers, etc.

(for those who don't watch South Park, there's an episode where Casa Bonita is a place that Eric Cartman holds in very high regard)

I'm absolutely shocked at this revelation. :D

Hi, there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Gee, thanks. Now I'm having flashbacks to Kenny in drag. Not even the Tech scale could have saved that one.
Not my fault that you haven't drank enough to burn off that visual memory. Sucker.

I don't think either of them meant to use the possesive in those posts. I know I shouldn't expect much from Monster in terms of grammar, but c'mon - he couldn't even decide how he wanted to misuse it. :p

And Wally, I'm not sure on that one, I've seen it as both 'F you and F' you, take it either way. ;)

ETA: 'Diva, feel free on the hug part, so long as my wife isn't around to see it. ;)
B'e S'ure to' Ch'eck You're rep' :p

Adrian is doing something special for their game this weekend??
