What is a math autobiography? Maybe the problem with the schools is that they're having students write math autobiographies instead of solving problems using the pythagorean theorem or learning derivatives.

Brent or anybody else in the FFL please check the thread and see if you can help a stupid guy out. I have way too much reliance on the 'remember me'

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! thursday. not quite friday.
So Lil had to write a math autobiography. In the first few sentences he says he doesn't do well because the last few years his teachers have not been good. Granted my brother, who has tutored math for years, told Mr and me that (in rather vivid language) as well as telling Lil he isn't stupid in math, but.... At 6:20 AM he was changing that to read in a more PC way. His comment was "well it is true!" It is not up my alley at that time in the AM to have to explain why you don't dis other teachers in your essays.

They have revamped math in the school system after it was such a fiasco but unfortunately this came after Lil had some real gems including the one who was out for months and replaced by the eastern European with the strong accent. (Schools answer- go to your last yrs teacher extra help- once a week- and have her explain it ) My brother tutored him most of that year.

That sounds like something I would have tried to write in school. You might want to remind him that teachers are usually friends with each other, and if you want things to go better this year, don't start off by trash talking, even if it is true.

Good morning Lodge.

Later today I will be heading to cityslickerville as I have a quick business meeting to attend. Tonight I plan on having a nice dinner, probably at Murray's. Tomorrow morning I fly out to San Diego. I am looking forward to hanging with some family in San Diego and I am really looking forward to the football game on Sunday.

Truth. And even if the teacher is bad, it's still on the student to perform well.

Good morning, Lodge. Making caramels, peanut brittle, and cashew brittle today!

Is 5 months long enough to claim I have automotive experience and to gtfo of my current job? Just saw a posting for a job with a 5 mile commute instead of 50, better pay and more authority. (Ability to do things right as opposed to pushing paper and waiting).

I'm bored where I am.

You've driven a car, right? You have automotive experience, go for it.

Good morning Lodge.

There is a message up that there will be a software upgrade this evening. I wonder what will break now. :)

Whoa. This thread is still here?!

Hope everybody has been well, I've been crazy busy with work and school, the transition to college, etc, so I haven't been around here much. Just wanted to drop by and say hello to everyone!

It's football season!:)

The puck drops in a few weeks also!

Have a good day everyone!

My conference for the first week of November has been moved to next year, so I can go to the Easton Corbin concert at TK's now! Also, it was just announced that James Otto is playing a concert at TK's, as a fundraiser for Jared Allen's charity, after the Vikings home opener on September 18th....

Someone in my office just compared a pasty to a pierogi, and said it was Polish food.
