Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I saw a refrigerator magnet yesterday that made me think of Scarlet. "There is no I in team, but there are two in martini!"

So, if anyone is wondering what to get me for my birthday.......

I never was a fan of wine, and sometimes spaghetti gives me issues (no, I'm not carrying the conversation any farther than that).

It's been a long time since I've done chicken and rice. When I first moved out that was one of the first things I started making, and once in a while I would make burritos out of the whole thing. I gotta make this more often. I've tried it with beef instead of chicken, but it doesn't work out nearly as well.

Bit of a bombshell dropped at work.

The owner of the prime contractor we use for most of the construction at the VA passed away a couple hours ago. Lung cancer, undiagnosed until too late. We're all shocked. He seemed perfectly healthy and was walking around and speaking with people even a couple days ago. I only marginally knew the guy in my short time here and I'm floored. He meant that much to us.

Chicken and rice tonight. Pretty basic.
Us too. Chicken in cast iron skillet, brown rice, and a fresh salad with spinach, carrots, red onion, red pepper.

Have you tried making your own? I'm not sure what ails you, but you can adjust the flours to make it easier on you and/or you can make eggless. I'd be happy to help with recipes.

Morning Lodge.

I get to drive to St. Cloooud today for a trade show that I have to work by myself. Ain't I lucky?
