Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days
My 5 day weekend was fun, I was away long enough that I didn't even mind waking up for work this morning. I suppose it helps that I fell asleep on the couch at 8PM and didn't wake up until my alarm went off at 6AM.
The fair was good, as usual, but I need to go more days in the future. I didn't get to eat everything I wanted to because I got so full yesterday. I am considering getting back into showing next year, but I don't know if I'd be able to get prepared for it when I live so far away from the farm. I have to figure that out. I also don't know if we'll have any animals that are good enough to bring to state next year.
Sunday night at Toby Keith's was very disappointing. The band was complete horse****, well, at least the lead singer was. He butchered every single song he sang. Also, whoever scheduled the staff for the night apparently doesn't own a calendar, so they didn't realize that people didn't have to work Monday. They were way understaffed for the amount of people at the bar. They only had 3 bartenders, and all 3 were from the B-squad, so they never work the busy nights. They had to call in one of the regular girls from weekend nights to help out. It still wasn't great but MNS and I got service, since she knew us.
