Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I googled her, the first page that comes up is her twitter profile, the second is her linkedin profile. She works for a local medical company. I bet there are some interesting water cooler conversations at that particular company on monday. :D
Depends on how well-kept that secret is - I can't imagine the LFL is that widely-followed. :p

Cancelled. The hurricane will now fizzle out before reaching NYC.
Going to tropical storm now.

'Morning, all. I was going to sleep in until 7am, but between the garbage truck and the squall line that just blew over, that didn't happen. Oh well.

Cedar. Or, if you're unfamiliar with that part of the state, about 20 miles northwest of TC.
And it won't become a subdivision. 10 years ago, my uncle sold the development rights to a land conservancy. Whoever bought it pretty much has to leave it as is, or improve upon already existing structures (which pretty much just includes the foundation from the old house that was on there and the old barn.) My dad and grandfather just did the same thing with the 30 acres they live on/I grew up on, as they were both worried about what his sisters might do after he passes.
So, basically, it may be out of our family, but will never become another McMansionland, and that makes me feel a little better about the whole situation. Emphasis on little.

Nice.
Where is the like button for conservancy?

8"x11" square magnifying glass is awesome. And hitting a full roll of "caps" with a hammer is also somewhat interesting.
Shoot. Even I did that. Not as fun as shooting the 22 but we needed to wait for Dad to come home to do that. (We were shooting when we were in elementary school. My mum hated that.)

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! silly saturday

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning Lodge.

Little g has been going to hippotherapy the last three years during the summers. Today is the big horse show.

Regarding doing crazy things as kids growing up. The stuff we did was wild and really really stupid but it was also really really fun. Now days Jackazz is making cash off the kind of stunts we used to pull. Looking back I cannot believe that somebody didn't get seriously hurt or killed. We played cowboys and indians with real bows and arrows and real guns. Played army with dangerous weapons and booby traps. We would go into an open field (5, 6 or 7 or more neighbor kids and stand close together in a circle) and shoot arrows from a bow straight into the sky. Nobody would move until after they started coming down then you ran like hell (we usually waited for really windy days). All sorts of crazy azz stunts with fire, three wheelers, bikes, skate boards and snowmobiles sometimes all together at the same time. We made bombs and blew stuff up......big stuff. Potato cannons and we almost made a real cannon but law enforcement stepped in at the last moment. This was done before I was 13 years old. I could go on and on. If only we had a video camera back then............

How funny is this?

pdouglasweatherPaul Douglas

Media is over-hyping this storm, 2 anxious to show off reporters & weather toys. Irene: more like violent winter nor'easter. I'm embarrassed

Good mornin all. The over reaction to this hurricane is kinda sickening. It's a CAT 1, not a CAT 5.

Anyway, the first home LFL game is mid-October. I think we should plan on bringing a huge group.

DMV for new tabs? Check. (in and out in 20 minutes, too!)
Renewed apartment lease? Check.
Printed out my FFL lists for tomorrow's draft? Check.

Now I wait for some fellow ruffians for TK's tonight. I have a feeling that beer will taste like a little bit of heaven that fell into a mason jar.

I don't go to the DMV for tabs anymore. It takes about 3 minutes to renue them online.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

What the hell are tabs?

On MN license plates, there are little stickers with a year on them that are affixed to the plate. You have to renew them every year. It's like registering your vehicle.

And bbdl, according to the notice I got, online renewal was not an option. Snail mail was, but since I live about 4 miles from the DMV, it's easier that way.

Edit: yes, I paid by check. :)

We have those, too. We get them when we register our car every two years. But we just call them stickers, since that's what they are. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

We went in to get the mister's tabs today. Two minutes, tops. Took longer to write the check than complete the rest of the transaction.
