Closing on a house = win.

Closing on a house ON YOUR BIRTHDAY = epic meter broken.

All set to close July 21.
Congrats!
All the birthday money is going to be sucked right into the new mortgage.

Evening, Lodge. Skills 2 made sandwiches today and brought them over to our class. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I'm back in Atlanta for tonight, we got done with the work early, so I changed hotels and drove down here tonight instead of early morning.

monster: the town was Dahlonega

For the most part, I noticed the accent on almost everyone I encountered, with the only people that I didn't notice it on were in Atlanta. Everyone in the town up north had an accent, but not a thick hardcore southern hick type of accent, just enough of one that you could tell that they're definitely from down here. Just enough of one to give the girls a hot accent and not too much that they sound friggin stupid.
I called TI about the promo they offered me (2 free nights). The closest to NYE I can get free is that Thursday (Dec 29th). However If I decide to pay for the 30th or 31st, I'd get a better a rate then normal and the resort fee is optional (incl. extras like internet, fitness center, etc.). So if someone wanted to split the cost of the room with me it would probably be super cheap.
I'd be up for going and commit right away, and if we're doing a trip like this, I'd think if other want to come along, we could fit more in the room and crash on the floor. That would make it even cheaper, if it isn't cheap enough yet.

And for the killer home furnishing...I have no idea how I'm going to get my hands on one of these, but I want a pinball machine. I've checked Craigslist and a few local vending companies, but they don't have any machines I want. There are a particular few I'm after.

Have fun with maintenance! Long ago I really wanted The Addams Family or T2 pinball machines (very fun, lots of ramps and such), or the classic 8 Ball Deluxe. An acquaintance in H.S. had a pinball machine and he said the maintenance is a beech on pinball machines due to all the moving parts.

Someone's gonna get hurt...or thrown into a snowbank.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Hi Lodge. Been cah-razy busy at work the last two days. Didn't leave the office till after 7pm both nights. Probably could have stayed another hour or so tonight. Rest of the week will be just as busy but I ain't staying late the next two nights.

Loving this weather. We're due to get the midwest heat Thursday/Friday. I took Friday off - yay!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

We're still going to be having that midwest heat on Thurs/Friday. They've bumped up Thursday's high to 100.

I essentially have a half-day on Friday, as the boss is out Friday afternoon, and it looks like a real half-day on Monday, as power is expected to be out until 11 AM.

I'm well aware. I'd like to see if I can get one in good condition right off the bat, preferably from a collector who knows what he's doing and not some bar owner going "hey, look what I found in the back!"

Flashy Man has a cousin(?) who lives in Madison who has a collection of like 10 of the things. We stayed with him for a roadtrip to Sconny. They're all over his house and take up an entire room and the basement.

If I see one of the following I will whip out the checkbook on the spot:

High Speed 2: The Getaway (living room is going to be car-themed, have 1:18 scale model cars everywhere and am getting some art)
Black Knight 2000 (God the soundtrack on this kicks ***)
Medieval Madness (this one is apparently insanely hard to get people to part with for some reason)

Will settle for an Addams Family or Lord of the Rings if I can find one, or maybe a few others I can't think of at the moment.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Kid's Regional game got canceled tonight due to a heat index of 112. The rules say they can't start a game if it's over 105. They delayed for an hour to see if it would come down then canceled. Still waiting to hear if they've rescheduled for tomorrow as they were saying. It's supposed to hotter tomorrow. There is a scheduled rain date of Friday after the heat is supposed to break - why not just play it then?

You know it's bad when everyone is looking forward to a dewpoint of ONLY 64 on Thu morn. ;)

Easterners: have fun! I bet you can't wait!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

The official airport dewpoint actually hit 82 today. A stiff NW breeze to clear this **** out would be nice.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning!

Always good to set a heat index record (114) and dewpoint record (82) on the same day. We are overachievers! :D Apparently the only place more humid in the western hemisphere was the Amazon.

My all time favorite pinball machine was the cyclone.
