Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Yeah, yeah, I know all this. I was mostly just griping.
Welcome to the real world...I make an annual fishing trip with my Dad and his friends (sometimes my mom) up to lake of the woods. My boss told me a back in June that if I went on this trip while I'm suppose to be sitting on that job up in Virginia, MN and they cover my vacation with someone higher up the food chain than me...that because my company can't charge our client more for this higher up...the difference might come out of my bonus. WTF is that about?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So, if I'm already acting in all of the roles of my new position at work, shouldn't I be receiving the appropriate compensation as well? Oye...

You'd think that.... but then again, if it were true I'd be paid about 120k right about now

The guy who is my direct boss, and was chosen over me for his current job (and I pretty much expected this, he was a former night-shifter, same with the hirer for the position at the time), relied on me to help run things for about the first 6 months; meaning, we basically split the duty of deciding who goes where and when throughout the day. Granted, that helped me achieve some unwritten leeway/opportunities in the past few years, but it wasn't a pay increase.

So did they plug the hole in your boat?

Kid's soccer cancelled again last night. They actually called all the games earlier in the day but our manager never checked so we all showed up at the field, but no one else did. That's when he figured it out. Now rescheduled for Friday about 4 hours after our goalie leaves for England for vacation. If we do get through that one and go to State, we could be down to 0 subs for the toruney. Not sure if any of the kids who are gone or injured will return for State if we make it. I am so glad my kid decided to not try out for next year - it will usck so bad. So sick of this group of kids/families. Can't wait for hockey.
